That moment when you beat Jason from eventhubs Feilong, and he sends you a salty message._. I don’t think any other genres salt levels compare to fighting games… no one’s safe from it… If you guys haven’t seen it, type in: James Chen salty" on YouTube. Hahah’
The person that I think anyone would love to see salty is Daigo, it’s a rare occurrence …They day he rage quits at a tournament is the day I buy everyone here in this thread McDonalds…
I don’t think Tag Team will happen. It’ll be too much to have to change the entire game system/engine around just to accommodate it. You can’t just shoehorn in a tag team mode into any engine and expect it to work.
Says focus on college then immediately states that EVO is a vacation…So college students don’t have vacations?
If you can’t afford to go to Disney World then why the hell not? If someone WANTS to support you then that’s their decision. It’s not like someone has a gun to your head forcing you to donate. It just makes you look bad by calling people who wanted to donate stupid or criticizing the guy who asked. And I never said evo was some golden apex of life that everyone must have in their life. I’m saying in general it’s scummy as fuck to criticize a guy for asking others for help. And if you think that paying your loans on your own is your responsibility so you shouldn’t go to EVO, then that’s fine. That’s your decision and I can respect that, but what is wrong with asking for help if you really want something? Anyways I’m done since this is off topic.
Ultimately, most people go to EVO for the fun and experiences around Fighting games, not for the Fighting games themselves.
What makes donations interesting is that only the people with names in the community can actually and successfully run a donation. If had a donation called, “Support CaptainGinyu” I would get shit like “Who is this scrub?”, “I ain’t givin no money to a frog” and stuff like that. Ultimately, you can’t really judge people on what they like to spend their money on, you just have to accept that people generally don’t have the same financial goals nor do they like to use money in the same way.
Well that isn’t entirely true. Remember the Japanese guy who asked for donations to send him to EVO last year? God I can’t remember his name to save my life, he was disabled and needed extra cash for his caretaker/translator. Honestly though, I hope he goes again. The smile on his face when he was being interviewed at EVO: Priceless.
Having a recognizable name helps. So does having a good story/reason.
I doubt I could get donations to go to EVO, but frankly, there are people who deserve it or should get a chance more than others.
