I’m harbouring a guess towards Tag Team, dramatic, rumble and stuff like that. Real custom matches would be a treat. Infinite EX but no supers or maybe even a team battle mode.
Yeah, I saw that. I respect Main Event, I’ve watched his videos for years, and he speaks the truth and calls out a lot of bullshit (and yeah, he does make hour long rants), but this is one of the few times where I disagree with him, since Ultra is not as bad as he’s making it seem.
Ono is a generally nice guy who loves what he does. I can’t hate a man for that. Is SF4 a perfect game? No, but I can’t honestly say that the people who made it don’t care about it.
Having both Ultras would make Zangief scary as hell. Deejay players on the other hand would probably ignore their revenge meter.
Yeah, I thought he made a lot of good points and I don’t even disagree with him on the problems that the way Capcom is releasing USF4 presents, but I disagree with him when he says that just because this is something we asked for doesn’t mean we should actually buy it.
I’ve been saying to people for a year that porting the SFxT characters over to SF4 would be something I’d like and that I felt $15 would be a fair price for that DLC, so it doesn’t seem fair on my end not to buy that exact thing for that exact price and be mad at Capcom for doing it. But he is right that if your reasoning for getting USF4 is simply out of a “need” to keep up with the most up-to-date version of the game, then yeah, Capcom is absolutely screwing you over and you’re letting them get away with it. The difference is recognizing want versus need.
As of late Main Event has been doing this tired ol’ shit…he doesn’t give people the benefit of the doubt like we are all stupid or something and don’t know what we are getting ourselves into. He also believes that Capcom over the recent years has become a charity and is obligated to patching 2 year old games like it’s a service. smh
I do agree with the fact that people calling out CoD for recycling shit, and then buying another version of SF4 is laughable. The last CoD game I bought was the first Black Ops, I then realized it was the same shit every year, and I haven’t bought one since. I even skipped out on vanilla SF4 only opting to play it at friends house and such because I knew there was going to be another retail release. I will be buying USF4, but it is true that it sucks I have to buy a new version just to stay competitive and shit, but hey that’s life. Everyone is a hypocrite in one way or another, so he shouldn’t just single out the FGC.
Hype breeding immaturity is stupid and shouldn’t happen to the degree that it does, but it’s bound to one way or another.
The whole e-begging to go to tournaments is very pitiful and I shame the people who do it because they should have their priorities straight if they really want to go to a tournament that bad, and while I personally think the people who donate to such things are stupid, I don’t really have the right to judge people based on what they want to spend their money on.
Capcom is very much to blame for the lack of UMvC3, and if they really wanted to they could’ve just renewed the licensing, but to expect them to patch the game for free almost two years later doesn’t really make sense if they have to pay a lot just to be able to update the game in the first place. I always did think it was quite funny how they patched the free costume glitch ASAP as fuck.
The guy did have some valid points, but he really didn’t need to get so worked up over the whole thing.
Last SF I bought was 3 years ago so I really don’t understand the CoD comparison (especially after the CoD/Doom argument). And it’s 15 dollars to stay competitive as opposed to 60. And if you need all the map packs in a specific CoD tourney then that’s 120 a year as opposed to 15 every 2-3 years. It’s silly that back in the day people had to buy full on new titles at full price but there were less complaints than nowadays with reasonably priced updates.
And how is asking people to donate for you to go to EVO bad or stupid? Wtf? What if it’s your favorite player and he/she wants the same chance as everyone else to compete and hopefully succeed? Does that mean that they shouldn’t get a chance to play? That’s some selfish bullshit and I 100% don’t agree with that. Some of the best things come out of crowd funding and cash mobs. What’s really pitiful is the fact that people hate on others for doing nice things for one another. I remember when dudes just liked to watch you play a video game if you were good. Now they are acting as life coaches on the side and judging your quality of life.
Edit: Btw excuse my ignorance if he said anything I said or if he made similar points, but there is no way I can spend 56 minutes watching an angry dude speak to a camera. At least do some match backdrops or something damn.
EVO is once a year. More than enough time to save up if you really want to go. I went this year for the first time and i had a blast. I did pretty good in my pools too. Ill be there next year as well.
Yup totally. So much for the American dream of equal opportunity regardless of financial and social background. Fuck that; #when’s MAHVEL?! #Stay Calm and DP FADC # Get HYPED.
No it’s not your fault that the person isn’t in the financial situation to go to EVO. It’s your fault for being a douche about people donating for a dude to play.
And let’s not even factor in that the person might be working minimum wage, while in an expensive college and trying to pay off student loans. Nope. Niggas stay hatin’. It’s not even like one person paid for everything. It’s a bunch of people donating loose change to help a guy who would like to go to EVO.
Ironically of the few minutes of Main Event’s video I watched I agree with some of what he said but for different reasons. Every now and then you see people in the FGC do wonderful things like play for charity and donate to a game dev (Skullgirls) so that they can get some support and update a game they worked hard on. Completely selfless acts that make you realize that it’s not bad to be into fighting games and consider yourself a fan. But then you see the absolute grimy side with sexism, people wanting games they don’t like to fail, or hating a game because it will cost them 15 dollars to upgrade even though it’s 2 years old (and hasn’t been full price since 2008 with vanilla release) or people bagging on a dude who got donations so that he can go to EVO; which was essentially a charity, and it makes you realize with the amount of double standards and hate it’s filled with it’s really not worth playing them sometimes.
I think having people donate for yourself to play video games should be illegal imo. Its really not helping an actual cause. Even with minimum wage you should be able to save up something from time to time.
If a person is spending most of his money at an expensive college trying to pay off loans, don’t you think he should FOCUS on said college and loans?
It’s not a sin to not be able to go to EVO. For most, EVO is a VACATION. Should I ask people to donate to me money so I can go to Disney World the first time?
If people want to donate their money to whomever, that’s their choice. People can do whatever they want with their money. I still think it’s a fucking asshole move to ask people to give you money because you can’t gather it yourself.
I have to pay off loans myself. You don’t think I’d like to go to EVO? But I don’t think it’s anyone burden to bear but my own. You go on vacations when you’re financially stable enough to go on vacations.
