I though the same way with cross tekken till i read posts about this. then i played matches on sf4 that felt smooth but felt like i was playing under molasses and though “fuck iv been putting up with this shit?”. then i realized playing with good connections, i love xtekken way more.
Problem is if someone has low jitter alot of online players may not notice lag if its not severe as fuck, but a little jitter is super noticable.
I know this would never happen but a quick 6 second ping test/jitter test pre before the lobby screen shows up would be godlike.
I honestly believe this game should no longer have two voice languages. Getting used to one language, then playing in another setup with a different dub makes it harder to respond to certain moves or time punishments.
Or at the very least, Capcom could decide not to use English actors for the new characters.
One thing I hate about AE online is how extremely inaccurate the bars are. They’re green for like 30 seconds or so before the true color shows up, and by that time you have already pressed play.
Right now a lot of Mexicans/Canadians change their region to US to expand their player pool, so sometimes you’ll get someone who looks green cause sf4 is stupid, but then it’s actually someone not even in the country.
Street Fighter 4 takes no skill, and this guy was dead serious when saying this. I honestly hate the idea of games using bars to show latency in general, I wish more games would quit with the bar bullcrap and let us view god damn ping numbers.
It’s not so bad in UK, put it on world and play UK/EU people, most French, German, Scandinavian, Dutch, Belgian players have good connections since we live pretty close, would be nice to have a Continent filter or something, also there seems to be a lot of middle eastern players who set their region to UK for some reason.
Always play with subtitles if you can. So few games (there are some) the dub is as good as the original. Just like movies / cartoons / ect. Not being snobby just being honest, of course I read quickly so it’s not a big deal for me. Someone with like dyslexia I could understand doing dubbed over subbed.
That said, I know it’s not the netherlands but I’d pay so much money for a Swedish Chef voice over pack / costume for assassin’s creed.
Also, why can’t you set the language separate from the region? That seems… odd. if the data is there (and from the sounds of it the VOs are on the disk for dif languages) why wouldn’t it let you select the VO you want? Not everyone who moves to a country / location has that country’s language as their native tongue. I mean, yeah you probably should speak it eventually but if you are more comfortable with another language in your leisure time no reason they should force the countries native language on you.
