Probably thinks that cause Europe use more than Cammy/Fei/Rufus/Rog and try to counterpick with Akuma. Unless someone like Zeus makes it, top 8 always have the same characters. Not used to a matchup = Get blown up.

this has been discussed before. no back dash inv and everybody eats meaty lvl3 focus. remove input leniency, and then you cant play viper, ibuki, makoto, adon or anyone else that uses the lax inputs for non mashy reasons. take out auto block and then sim and seth for example create true 3s urien unblockables. also anyone that can throw a slow enough fireball to FADC and get a cross up
I don’t know if this is actually true. 3s unblockables aren’t actually caused (on their own) by lack of auto block. For proof of that you only need to look at the arcade revision that everyone rejected - unblockables are gone but the other mechanics are all intact.
ok, so you eat meaty lvl 3 only part of the time. thats still a lot of damage, and worse than any unblockable
dunno. maybe not true then? still not a good idea with sf4s short block stun and low push back. i can picture balrog just doing crouch jab frame traps across the screen

Edit: Yeah I went back and looked. I do think her kd options will still be good, and as a character on the whole she’ll still be great.

Yeah to me there’s no reason to remove auto block in 4. It’s not really the root of the problem, just allows you to see it stick out like a sore thumb.
And I think the core problem will be less of a problem in ultra. Reversals are good but can’t be fadc’d to safety now. invincible moves that are safe on block and can make an appearance in any combo drop or blockstring hole with minimal risk are unbelievably dumb. But now that the safe part of that equation is missing, I think we’re in for a smarter experience.
Many characters can’t easily punish Reversal FA backdash. This also just has the effect of slowing the game down. I preferred the option of completely removing the ability to FADC after a blocked reversal, or making it cost 3 bars in that situation instead.
i dunno. one is too many tho. and i agree. they should make it so you only have access to basic movements. no dashes or specials for however many frames
ibuki has her SJC stuff, and makoto loses all those instant axe kicks that make her actually threatening. both of those rely on input short cuts
