Ultra Street Fighter 4 | General Lounge

Right now people perfer going for ultra throw since it does more damage witht eh follow-up combo.

The setup Shimauta did was walk forward a bit, f.lk, j.lk/j.mk which is currently the unblockable setup for Ibuki, but even if you mistime the setup by a frame or two, it will still lead to ambiguous setup and people still get hit by it a lot. With f.lk instead of st.mp, Ibuki can adjust the setups with more time. St.mp can also work if you do a j.lk instead of a kunai for normal wakeup timing. However, it requires a neckbreaker knockdown which is good so now Ibuki players have to learn how to hit confirm to neckbreaker if they don’t want to have a vortex setup that will have to make them guess to use kunai or not.

I saw someone doing condor spire just to build meter… it and I mean that meter was build pretty friggin fast.

yeah, i get it. it will be 50/50 on some characters, but for others they will have a visual confirmation depending on what you do. similar to how most of the time you can block hawks lp spd mix up based on if he took a step forward or not. plus its easier to focus dash out of those high non meaty jump ins than it is to get reversal focus on a meaty kunai.

im not saying its bad. im just saying its more fair for a defender

>See Ibuki in the thumbnail

Well away we go

So cammy used DWU 3 times in a row and it didn’t effect ibuki…

dammit youre ignoring my posts arent you

theres an example of DWU getting ibuki punished at around 6:30, but the bison didnt know what was up and did 1 low short into an awkward stare

theres another example in the hugo match around the 17:30 mark. she gets a KD goes for a set up, but hugo does regular wake up and its hard to get shit to cross up on hugo, so he blocks front side.

on the very next KD, ibuki adjusts with normal timed wake up kunai, but hugo does DWU. he could have punished, but he did the awkward stare thing

then she gets punished twice in the fei long match at like 31:45

hour and a half of “nerfed to oblivion” ibuki destroying people with her changes. that 3F crLP and improved EX DP look good.

Man, with DWU not fixing vortex Cody’s chances of viability look bleak at best. It seems the only top tier that really got hurt was Seth who doesn’t rely on hard knockdowns for the most part since it was his non-vortex stuff that got nerfed (combos / movement) and to a lesser extent Akuma (who may just need time to develop new setups and start utilizing the new DF-EX Fireball stuff)

Gonna have to experiment more and see if I can find some crazy new crMK or F+HK setups that make those changes significantly better lol.

Probably just need time to develop new setups at this point. This is day 2 stuff.

Got almost an hour in, Ibuki STILL winning.

Fuck me man I hate that character.

lol. 35 straight?

The next acho video shows him with another 40 wins more

He’s probably still at the arcade right now winning

Well…at least Ibuki is more tolerable than Shadow Teddie/Kuma.

The only people who were really saying that in general were non-Ibuki’s because that’s what they usually got wrecked by. Probably didn’t have to see more of what the character had to offer. Plenty of people in the Ibuki boards were excited for easier links, extra loop reps on people like crouching Honda and HP tc sjc tsumuji/dash. If any Ibuki’s were singing of the end times it was the autopilot ones who only got by on vortex and even that seemed to stay.

Said for a long time Ibuki’s footsies / normals are some of the most undersold in the game. Can’t count how many times I’ve heard Ibuki players claim she had bad footsies. Some of her normals leave a lot to be desired but the ones that are good are VERY good and she has normals for every situation. She’s got far reaching pokes (crMP, sMK, crMK) she has 2 hit moves (sHP, B+MP) she has moves to avoid lows (F+HK, F+MK), she has moves to low profile (all of her crouching kicks lower her profile by moving her head hurtbox down dramatically. Also crMK might be one of the lowest profile moves in the game other than her torso (which is projectile invincible), she has 3F lights, she has a hit confirmable low (that is also decently quick), she has solid anti airs (crHP, B+MP, clsHK) and she has good conversions from most pokes thanks to spin kicks and neck breaker as well as jump canceling to SK or NB on normals not special cancelable.

She may not have all of the best normals or even top 5 best overall but she is incredibly solid with a couple of exceptionally good normals.

Rolento looks DeeJay-tier. his hits are weak, limited range on everything that made him decent

and when people talk about his mobility i cringe so much: a fixed distance walljump, one of the shittiest forward dashes in the game, slower walkspeed than average, mediocre focus… yeah, ok “mobility”

Everyone saying Cammy, Ibuki, Fei Long, ect. were gonna be GG tier as in good game i don’t wanna win tier can finally shut up… You’re characters are still good… This happens everytime…I will always remember the Bison players reaction when they first released the Ultra change list, man oh man… Never forget#
NNNNOOOOO THEY RUNIEDDDDDDDDDDD HERRR OMG WTF BBQ!!! WAHHHH’ * Checks to see if Capcom is looking, confirms that they are" WAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Experimenting with El Fuerte a bit and I think some of his changes are being slightly overlooked in how much better he is going to be.

clsHK startup reduced from 12F to 10. This lets him do Run - stop - sHK without a counterhit (currently only works if sHP is a counterhit.) this ups his damage as it lets him do sHP - Run - Stop - sHK - HK Leg Throw for 282 damage or RSF-RSF-RSHK-HK Leg throw for 342

Gordita Sobat (Run - MK) recovery reduced by 1F <- this makes it +2F on block and +6F on hit in addition he now has a 3F sLK that is +2F on block for frame trapping if it’s blocked. Combined with another change, his Quesadilla Bombs are now 14F startup he can do Gordita Sobat - crMK - QBomb for 270 damage.

In addition to his standard damage combos being expanded by having MK/MP cancelable to Qbomb he also gained a HUGE boost to his command throw damage with Fajita Buster going from 150 to 180, a 120% increase.

Lastly, his EX Leg Throw had it’s grounded recovery reduced from 10F to 6F. The move now is only 38F total with only 18F recovery. It’s going to be incredibly difficult to punish that, it already goes unpunished pretty often as the move also has 17F of invincibility.

I dunno if Elf will be strong but I think his changes might result in a larger shift than people have realized.
