I get why they’ve blocked it for Endless lobbies too. People don’t want to have to check every lobby to make sure they’re not getting the craziness. Not only that, but they probably don’t want to divide the online player base either.
However, there’s no reason why this shouldn’t work the moment all rooms in a lobby are flagged as PRIVATE. If every slot in a room needs to be filled with an invite, then it should become an option for the host to enable. There’s no reason at all why this shouldn’t be.

but i doubt that it will happen, at least not for the first 6-12 month of release maybe, why would they spent so much time and money on balancing ULTRA just to throw everything with edition select, it might happen with a patch later on
i agree. thats the main reason why they wont put ES online.
it takes attention away from the game that they just spent a year developing. they plan to sell this game to arcade operators.
in reality it would be super easy for them to separate the 2 modes/leaderboards the same way they separate people who make lobbies where you can still play Super and 2012
I’m with everyone wanting an Endless Battle (AKA non-ranked) Edition Select mode for online, just to kick back, relax and have some silly-ass fun. 'Cause whan it comes right down to it, that’s what Street Fighter, or any game for that matter, is for. We try to push it beyond fun for most of the playing audience, but we find our fun in doing so. Let the casuals settle the debates online with this. It won’t affect us.
Has there been any mention that Elimination mode was change to work Offline as well? Because if that hasn’t changed then I don’t see the likelihood of Edition Select being enabled for Non-Ranked Online play. Incidentally, Elimination Edition Select sounds too godlike.
Anyways, I can tell you some of Rolento’s damage values based on this video since they used Cody for training mode. (Since Cody has a known 1000 health it’s easy to compare positions on health bar. Could probably do this with Elena - Sakura too. But we don’t know how much health Poison and Hugo have for sure yet.)
His Patriot Circle x3 is 160 damage for the strength used.
Stinger (knife throw) is 50 damage
Mekong Delta Attack (the backflip - roll) is 110 damage
Forward jump HK is 100 damage (MIGHT be 90 but looks like 100)
Mine sweeper (super) looks like 340
U1 (in W ultra) looks pretty weak actually. Damage in W ultra looks to be ~340 or less which makes his main ultra damage only ~450
U2 (in W ultra) looks pretty strong. Looks like 370-390 damage n W ultra which would be ~490-510 damage normally.

I think that ultra is scaled almost as badly as poison’s rekka into her u1 which seems easier imo. I’ve also noticed the way rolento’s ultra 1 looks very odd to me. Just the ending. Usually people dont just land smack down on the ground XD
Yeah when I watched his Ultra, it made me cringe when Cody didn’t bounce. When you fall at that height, there’s bound to be some kind of bouncing off the floor even if it’s minimal. Yet he just plopped on the floor like it was a cloud or something lol. And on top of that, the KO voice is completely off-sync since he doesn’t bounce. It was just completely awkward. I don’t like that but I know they’re not gonna change it.
To be fair, its application seems restricted to punish situations. I didn’t see any of the Rolento players FADC’ing into it. Heck, Infiltration and the rest seem to be leaning towards U1. Not that I blame them.
