I hope you can use older characters in training mode…
I completely agree that edition selection is useless if it isn’t in a online endless battle mode, not many people have offline scenes, I understand this wouldn’t make sense for ranked but not endless. This utterly stupid on Capcom’s part. People who have a Facebook or twitter account need to voice their opinion so we can get this mode online as well.
Maybe they should do a TRUE dream match game where every character and version of the characters from all SF games in one game? Who would be the top tier?
Hopefully there will be a patch to allow edition select in online modes.
I’m more concerned about tournaments than online though. A few tournaments with every edition of every character would be hella interesting IMO.
i can see why capcom wouldnt allow edition select for online as it could split the player base ( or maybe technical issue ? ), but at least allow it for endless so it dosnt affect peoples trying to grind points on ranked

No, but seriously. Capcom is REALLY stupid sometimes. The game found its popularity in the online world, Capcom creates an awesome feature that’s…NOT available online?
And with the lack of online, it is yet another feature I won’t use. I don’t even have any friends in the state I live in, let alone a local scene to play against. If the console version isn’t popular in Japan, and there are far fewer people in the US who play locally, who is this targeting?
Also, doesn’t this mean that the other modes are gonna be offline-only? If they won’t add endless support for this, why would they for the kof mode? Or that other one that I have forgotten what it is.

Fuck it, let’s just bring back every possible version of the characters. Let’s go back to SF1 ryu, when fireballs did 25% life and shoryukens took off 90% and the hurricane kick was utterly goofy looking.
Its probably best if to tweet combofiend/dawg/make a thread on unity to just make SE toogable in player matches, like blazblue with unlimited characters and guilty gear with ex characters

I don’t get why they would even hype up this new mode if you can’t use it in a casual setting online where I imagine a large portion of the game’s fanbase plays…
I guess most of you are forgetting all the quotes in the scrubquotes thread. Capcom would be stupid to let the mode select be played online. In fact, arcades that have the game are gonna experience new levels of salt when some bad player comes in and uses ae yung or vanilla seth or sagat.
It’s console exclusive.
