Gief’s close LK cancelable being mentioned as a buff = LOLS

double post

I love Chris King’s mobility. He really uses all of Vega’s movement tools well.

Okay actually the crHP anti air for Vega look pretty good

Isn’t Vega’s crouch fierce negative on hit AND block though? I thought it was a universal sin to use Vega’s crouch fierce in SF4?

Does it matter if you use it as an anti air / anti divekick tho ?

That hit advantage (or lack thereof) doesn’t really matter as much if you’re knocking people out of the air.

Only for grounded pressure. It looks like they buffed the hitbox width a bit too but that could just be chris king’s impeccable spacing. As an anti air it looks better. It’s only 5F startup and does 110 damage with great reach, the buff to active frames makes it less likely to whiff as an anti air. You don’t need to be nearly as precise on your timing.

I jumped off my seat when Combofiend said they were not done with balancing Yun, he heard our salty tears.
Hopefully he does not end up too good (or people will cry), cause i want Yun to be good in what could be the final version of the game for decades to come. Muhaha’
He’s still good now even after the huge nerf list that was v2012, but if this change list stays the same he will be B-, he needs to be B+ or higher… It’s only fitting… just like it would not make sense if Dante and Vergil were D tier…

I could see a reason to play him over e ryu style wise but not over duds. Then again why play cody over Cammy and Sakura right now :S lol.

And with dudley being buffed im prolly gonna check him out to fill my cody void

Oh well…

Theirs no point in playing Cody unless you have his prison jump suit costume and set it on color red, looks sick.

fuck that shit bumblebee yellow all the way!

Evil Ryu is better if you tend to play the more slow paced whiff punish / zoning / anti airing Cody. Dudley is better if you tend to play the in your face frame traps / throw game style with Cody. ATM I can’t think of any matchup Cody has where he is a better choice than either E Ryu or Dudley depending on what you need. Atm there are because Dudley has issues with some moves and the damage is close enough between Cody / Dudley to be decent. Evil Ryu requiring 2 bars for most of his damaging combos that knock down unless the opponent is standing + having 50 less life and a less useful hop kick also help in a couple MUs for pushing Cody over E Ryu.

Of course, this is all just theory and we still don’t know the final changes. But just from the current state? I’m not seeing much reason to pick Cody over those 2. Though preemptive opinions can often be wrong (see Justin Wong’s infamous adon sucks quotes before Adon got his final build in super.)

That isn’t to say he is going to be bad. Just kind a “why bother picking this character when this other character basically does everything he wants but better.” sort of like picking Deejay over Bison/Guile.

But wait guys, aren’t you forgetting about the knife? That gives Cody tons of advantages like… uh…
…Let me get back to you on that one…

Damage and perhaps slight increase on range?

Dan should have moved up the tier list now from Dan-Tier to…well…

Kyu-Tier.
In Dan’s case, that is actually a promotion.

i dont know where the original sound design team has gone but i can bet its not the same anymore for USF4, so much annoying sound from stages, characters ( hugo walk sound omg ), wtf music style …

Yeah the Music seemed VERY different in those stages

Here’s the transcript from Elena’s trailer:
カポエイラ使いのエレナは足技が得意。中段技はたくさん揃っているので相手を混乱して戦いたいですね。
でも、何と言ってもストIVシリーズで唯一の体力回復技を持つキャラ。
んん。。。ピンチの時はヒーリングを使って体力を回復したよね。そうしたら、ウルトラ気持ちぃ~。

And my basic translation:
The Capoeira master Elena specializes in kicks. She has a bunch of mid-level (overhead?) attacks, which are perfect for confusing your opponent.
Elena is also the only character in the series to have the ability to heal herself.
Being able to heal yourself as Elena really comes in handy in a pinch, and it is an “ultra” good feeling.

Once again, Ayano-san goes out of his way to use the expression “ultra” at the end. Also, I’m not sure of the best expression to use for 中段技 in the context of Street Fighter, but it refers to an attack that can only be blocked high, and not low. Perhaps “overhead attack” would be more appropriate.

@HartleySan Yeah in japan usually overheads are refered to as “mids” weird I know.

Not going to lie, I have been known to rage quit when some kind of online horse crap happens to me.
