December is almost finished,so… No Decapre?
Capcom giving us better options to set up buttons is still great. If we as players are too stupid to efficiently use that option, there’s nobody to blame but ourselves.
As eager as I am to know who the 5th character is, I really hope Capcom doesn’t reveal her in December. That means it won’t be Decapre and I could hold on to fantasies of the 5th character being a worthy addition to the roster.
If you mess up on button check, I should just be allowed to take the 1st round.
Arcade release is in April, right? They had better reveal the 5th soon if they want any sort of testing feedback…
Jan-March is a foreseeable announcement window.
i wish they would add an option to switch ultras in training room
Just pick W ultra Kappa.
More than 9 seconds to record stuff would be awesome though.
CAPCOM NEEDS to make the first layer of red focus take away no health… THAT WILL NEGATE CHEAP CHIP DAMAGE WAKE UP EX DPS TO CLOSE ROUNDS AND ADD COMEBACK FACTOR… if you have the meter it makes sense… capcom pls
I don’t think we need to add any more comeback factor…
Wow; this is the most popular & supported series (with tons of updates) by Capcom & many fighting game fans since the SF II series. Not even Alpha 2/Zero 2, Alpha 3/Zero 3, or Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike comes even close to either SF II or SF IV on that.
For very good reasons…Street Fighter in HD,
Great Gameplay,
33 characters consisted of 17 Super Turbo characters, 8 Alpha/Zero characters (excluding Evil Ryu for obvious reasons), & 7 Street Fighter III characters all rolled into one SF game, including Poison!
All terrific…though I wish that Capcom would’ve gave each character their own backgrounds that fits them more like with the SF II series & with Street Fighter Alpha 2/Zero 2, just like they remixed the soundtracks from Alpha 2/Zero 2, Super Turbo, & 3rd Strike. Backgrounds in this series aren’t bad, but still…I would have to agree with posters like Eternal about it.
Actually if you consider the Alpha series as a whole you have:
SF Alpha
SF Alpha 2
SF Alpha 3
SF Alpha 3 Upper (arcade / PS2 Anniversary Collection exclusive)
Hyper Street Fighter Alpha (Exclusive to PS2 Anniversary Collection)
SF Alpha 3 MAX (Exclusive to PSP)
vs
SF4
SSF4 / SSF4: 3D Edition (other than the easy mode special moves this is functionally identical to SSF4 so might as well count it as one entry.)
SSF4:AE
SSF4:AE2012
USF4
(You can’t really count SF4 Volt as that is more of a “completely different game using SF4 assets” in terms of how it plays.)
That is still less, or a tie depending on your views.
Also:
Street Fighter 2
Street Fighter 2: Champion Edition
Street Fighter 2 Turbo: Hyper Fighting
Super Street Fighter 2
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo
Hyper Street Fighter 2 (PS2 Anniversary Collection Exclusive)
Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD Remix (XBLA/PSN Exclusive, never went to arcades afaik.)
I’d say in terms of “The same game with continual content updates” SF2 still wins. And that is without counting things like the weird ports that had to create new systems due to lack of buttons or graphical fidelity (like the gameboy port of SF2 since it only has 2 buttons.)
The corners are completely messed up in 3DE, so it’s far from functionally identical. Some trials are almost impossible because of it, mainly for Gen.
That isn’t an intentional gameplay change though. Again, like counting a different version of SF2 where they screwed up a port job

Should we count the amiga port of ST as a separate entry because it was so fucked up?
I don’t care about this whole “number of versions” discussion, I was just saying.
They stopped making sf3 games after third strike because they realized they had made perfection and no other update or fighting game would improve on it.
This is my belief and I’m sticking to it
Jesus christ eternal, do you know everything sf related for fucks sake

Jesus christ eternal, do you know everything sf related for fucks sake
Actually it went like this:
“Really? Wow, I didn’t know that USF4 would mark the game finally surpassing SF2. I wonder how many versions of other games there were exactly. Google O’ I guess not QUITE made it yet. Well, there will probably be USF4:2015”
Google. It’s pretty amazing.
Damn, i thought you were this walking sf encyclopedia and google actually came to you for answers

Well, I did know the Alpha stuff already. I DO know a fair bit but honestly I just double check stuff when I’m like “Hey… I’m not sure about that” or “I want to know about…”
