Ultra street fighter 4 gen changes

So I won ranbats yesterday. Dropped some links since it was like my actual day 4 of Ultra, but aside from not doing what I should be able to do (AA yang, Ultra Hazanshu, etc) I think I played better than last time. I’ll post video links if I can.

I came up with a wake-up mixup idea after a throw right before the ranbats, and I believe I should be able to get it 100% of the times if I get used to it. The one i did was:
Forward throw -> forward dash -> Mantis st.MP -> walk a few frames -> Mantis st.LP

After this, you confirm whether there was a DWU or not. If there is a technical message, you jump. If not, you walk forward and meaty.
I find it easier to go for a DWU setup then confirm non-DWU than to go for a regular setup then confirm DWU.

Oh, remember when I told you guys about the “wake-up jump-in meaties can always be blocked front” change?
I was wrong.
I did a setup against Ryu with Ryu, and he did meaty cross-up just fine. I did setups against Gouken with Gen, and he did meaty cross-ups just fine. However, I did all setups against Ryu with Gen, and he can now block everything as front.
I do not know whether it is Gen-only change or not, but I think I can say that Gen’s every meaty jump-in setup in the corner can now be blocked front with shotos. You need to delay your jump-in normal by 2f to hit it as a cross-up.

Watching those games was painful. Capcom really made sure to remove Gen from the meta game with these changes. Sorry for the whining, this just makes me mad as hell.

anyone tested my dwu setups yet?

I actually didn’t try cuz I don’t jump in Crane after back throw, but I can indeed see that it would work.

I’m not sure if this is new as I hardly used U2 in Super but did you guys know you can catch Ibuki with Mantis U2 during her Kunai special? It’s weird, you basically deflect the projectile and she falls right into your Shitenketsu attacks. Lol

Dwu tech for Gen. Mantis forward throw, double dash neutral jump MK os MP. No dwu is safe jump. Dwu will get meaty s.Mp good vs non dp xter

perform safe jump os instant backdash. after safe jump hold downback press your desired air normal then os with a focus+back. Nk dwu you get you jump attack only. on dwu you get a backdash.

That’s an interesting one. I might try it on Wednesday.

Hm, I can’t seem to find the info on character specific mp hands loops; could anyone provide me with it?

hmm most likely on big size characters I know of deejay though

as I watch Tokido using ex air fireball to pressure I was looking for a solution

  2. ex roll mp+hp since its 6 frame start up and akuma has 16 and 8 frame recovery on air fireball and ex fireball respectively

  3. dash under and combo

  4. crane u1

  5. delay ex Gekiro
