Ultra street fighter 4 gen changes

Yeah, during the match I remembered that the old hands combo from Vanilla works on Rog with mp hands. I was actually going to go for it in the second round but I decided to save my meter to try to go for the hit and confirm into U2. I did use the old mp hands loop on the second video I posted in the original post. I removed the video because it didn’t really mattered since I just wanted to show the new potential for U2 and not swag combos on the poor Rog.

Messy first round but I landed the old DJ only combo (mp hands loop) at 1:30 also hands > fadc into EX> U2 for the win.

Tested out soft knockdown safe jumps after light gekiro. seems to work well for now.

and I’m not even sure if it was a disconcerted chuckle or a WTF kind of snort.

super does scale bad so best option to go for is target combo > super or cr mp > hands > super otherwise you are better going for FADC combos or Red focus(remember that technically it’s just 50 damage less)

I suppose you meant his mantis.HP -> MK target combo? That actually deals less damage than a cr.mp -> hands -> super, so I hardly ever use it unless it’s a finisher and I’m feeling lazy. About the crouching target combo as seen in the video, I’ve used that in some pretty tricky ways before, and it works great. I will never link a hands with it though, so that might be why the scaling was so bad, not to mention the good chunk of 50 damage stripped from it. Ideally the crouching target combo itself is a hit confirm before you fire off a super.

hands with 4 hits will scale badly so ASAIK cancelling 2nd or 3rd hit will give you good damage…

that’s not true the first four hits of hands is considered a single move. so cancelling before the fourth is a bad idea

lol. mash that reply lol. so I think Gen Gekiro lk will be very instrumental to our success with him in USF4

The combo that I posted earlier (c.lk (m) > c.lp (m) > KKK > c.lp © > c.mp © > jyasen) surprisingly feels easier than the old standard combo into Jyasen (c.lk > c.lp > s.mp > c.mp © > jyasen). Until I get completely used to the new timing for c.lp > s.mp I guess I’ll be using that from now on.

A bit more info about the “AA” Mantis U2:

  • It seems to come out if you use it as a reversal as well
  • Its vertical hitbox is the non-buffed one ie. it doesn’t reach to the ground aka it might whiff against some low profiles.
  • It seems to have much less recovery and feels like +5 or close on block (needs testing), and is more difficult to whiff punish.

WOW! Really?! That is super random! And … an ultra that is POSITIVE on block? Seriously? And this also means that if we mash it out against frame traps and stuff we’re completely safe if it is blocked? Uh …
