Ultra street fighter 4 gen changes

Yeah the timing is weird. The combos were pretty situational to be fair anyway.

Also a note. When you do it against a crouching chun YOU HAVE TO hold focus a milisecond longer, not for it to be level 2, otherwise it just whiffs, since the stance change isnt isntant it uses the crane focus attack so that propably has something to do with that.

EDIT: Tested on all characters, you only have hold it down on chun.

IF the scalling is truly the same then with the reduced charge time on roll combined with ex red focus and safe roll gen can be pretty terrifying in crane footsies too, which i like because that extra walkspeed is realy good and crane cr. mp is a godlike poke which i liked to use casualy in ae.

Also if someone has the file with the FINAL gen changes please drop a link here, since it’s hard to know the exact stun values with the old changes.

probably. im gonna miss doing it without meter tho

oh and speaking of the HK and Ex switch, did anyone check if capcom just swapped data for HK and EX?

considering they swapped the timing and the HKD properties, they may have just swapped everything including the hit boxes

Lol, now we’ll get to do it off of a mashed reversal instead of a hard-earned combo. I don’t like the direction Gen is going. :S

I dont know bro. Its realy unsafe to mash it now, combined with the shitty startup its realy meh, also unability to fadc it. Atleast if we go for that ultimate yolo we get something out of it.

Any thoughts on using Stance Change to adjust for delayed wakeups?
I remember DWUs being 9 frames, and Stance Change is 5. Stance-change back and forth should cover it, albeit 1 frame late. Alternately, just use a single stance change along with another normal to adjust for the 9 frames.

Pretty sure it’s 11.

Yeah DWU is 11 frames.

I’d have to brush up on my Gen frame data to see which jab is close to that.

St. Jab is 3 frame startup 2 active and 7 recovery. In combination it is 12 frames, this is the closest one I think if i’m doing this thing right.

No, stand jab is exactly 11 frames, which makes DWU setup possible by adding it in.

As for combos, just use 2012 stun value with 300~450 for Mantis U2 and you’ll get the value for Ultra.

Judging by combofiend’s vid, I’m 99.99% sure that they did not simply swap data between HK and EX Gekiro as a whole. They probably swapped follow-up list of the 1st Gekiro hit, which basically means the 1st hit will be the same as now and the follow-up list of HK Gekiro’s 1st hit is changed to EX Gekiro follow-ups and vice versa (I do hope they didn’t forget to change the meter gain for the very last hit. If the last hit of EX Gekiro gained meter I would laugh then get sad)

Yes. Amiyu does a DWU setup with standing jab around 6:03 against Rufus. From a forward throw.

like street says the total frame count is 11

i forget the complete reasoning they write frame data this way. in reality, the last start up frame and the first active frame overlap, or they occur at the same time

so for the jab, you can punish things that are -3 because Gen’s mantis stand jab hits on frame 3

from the video the tech message appears on his front throw right at the end of the whiffed cr.mp recovery.

im wondering can he still do the shoto DP whiff set up. front throw, dash, whiff cr.mk (stance change) crane jump mk

the tech message will appear at a similar time, but with the stance change you have to whiff a crane jab, so that throws the set up off by a few frames

My theorized setup from EX Gekiro is:
whiff LK Gekiro -> Walk forward in Mantis stance for several frames -> Switch stance -> Crane j.MK
or
whiff LK Gekiro -> Walk forward in Mantis stance for several frames -> Mantis st.MP -> Crane j.MK

Depending on whether the opponent did regular wake-up or did delayed. I plan to practice this day 1 (actually day 2 cuz xbox version comes out 1 day later for some reason)

made an analysis of the hugo gen match
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pjpiYAmgCi8

Let’s hope he will discuss gen changes too.

The way USF4 is now, does Gen still have any advantage matchups? the more I look I see buffs that will bury him everywhere

Time to take some laffs

11:30 minute mark

Now Gen crMP hands wiffs on hit! yay!

Lol what a one-sided matchup that looks like. Elena looks like a new Adon but with overhead/low mixup incorporated into her zoning game. Ridiculous.

I’m pretty sure it’s just elena having fucked up hitbox. I doubt it’s some sort of hidden nerf.
