Alas, we have lost another Claw of our cursed ranks.
I use a controller, often than not I find to fail the jabs online but offline they are incredibly easier for me. Capcom should potentially realise that lag affects all those who are unfortunate enough to fall under it’s salty burn.
I’m still not thrilled about the jLK crossup. I do understand its uses but it still feels “weird” with Vegas design. Also, the MK after the jump pretty much has to be a hitconfirm, otherwise, if the jLK is blocked you might be eating a dragon punsch or 360 grab. And experience from using Blanka and Rose tells me it is NOT easy to land a crossup jump on good players.
But, I’m bitching. It’s better than nothing. And judging by the comments on Eventhubs, few characters got what the players were requesting.
Thing is in most games Vega has had a cross up for like, ever. In ST he can cross up j.mk and j.hk on most characters. It’s just really hard to do. It’s about time he got it back.
Back when the buffs were first announced in the Alpha, I decided I was okay with them because everyone else in Ultra was getting crazy stupid buffed and Vega was going to need some too to compete. And I was pissed about them being taken away like everyone else because everyone else got to keep their absurd buffs while Vega was effectively him brought back to AE2012 version. And I was pissed because Capcom didn’t seem to notice all the characters they were making stupid-good and was only interested in keeping Seth, Fei and Vega in line. Seriously Vega sucked in Ultra arcade, there’s no way he was going to compete with twins, Sagat, Guile, Chun-Li, Akuma, Dhalsim, Guy, Juri, Viper, Rolento, Evil Ryu, etc… Everyone just super-good because of crazy fan-requested buffs but Vega was still mediocre. And Ultra is an environment where zoners, dive kickers and general non-oki rushdown thrived, not good for Vega. DWU and RFC kind of helped Vega (but not in the Rufus matchup) but it wasn’t going to cut it.
But the arcade version hit and I think Capcom realized that they made an uh-oh. They seem interested in nerfing everybody now, like from it’s Super -> AE. Whether it’s better to have a cast full of ridiculous characters or a cast full of okay-tier characters is another discussion for another time, but Vega is probably going to be just fine in console Ultra after all the ridiculous characters have been brought down to more reasonable levels.
I still want that damn c.LP buff at least tho jesus christ.
Yeah, especially the other night I was playing a local Cammy and the whole time I was shaking my head. That extra jab pressure would have been a tad nice and then being able to use it reliably if I got the hit. Funny thing in training even my friend had a hard time hitting the 1 frame jab links and he’s better than me execution wise.
Dude every time you post you annoy me… Stop it with the dumb gambit post…you say them most incompetent uninformed shit then add icing at the end and hope we didn’t notice… You are obviously not a vega player… I don’t know what u term as a “ridiculous character” but im guessing u use that term cuz u don’t have a clue who vega’s bad matchups are … Vega was just under mid tier cuz his hit confirm is risky and he gets the shit beat out of him by vortex characters, he wasn’t bottom tier cuz he was strong vg mainly grapplers. Now that grapplers were buffed I believe many of these matchups will be even so that pushes us down a few notches… The problem is that u can name on one hand the vortex characters that got something that resembled a nerf (Akuma,Camy, seth) from what I see YUN and YANG is raping, rufus got nerf that didn’t matter and got that ridiculous far mp buff, KEN is shitting buffs (seriously KEEENN someone nerf ken plsssssss) ect…
What I saying is that a typical vega player doesn’t really care about the feilong nerfs or which other “ridiculous character” you are referring…this is a vega forum so stay in context and stop posting lame shit. Capcom is Face rolling who to buff and who to nerf and we just have to deal so stop giving them ANY benefit of the doubt…
p.s. Fishing for step kick to cl. hp with Abel is getting boring . Vega is like an addiction
lol what? Seriously, what? Buddy I have to really question your lucidity and reading comprehension. Work on those and you will find yourself a lot less mad at me. You talk like you’re tilted as hell and can hardly read.
The first time you responded to me, you actually responded to stupid quotes I was replying to and talked to me as if I was the one saying them. Saying things like “ARE YOU DENSE?” like you weren’t able to follow the conversation at all. And completely misunderstood another part of my post about the c.LP buff. I honestly didn’t even know what to say to that so I just never replied to you there. Please read my posts more carefully before you respond to them.
You post you just made, complaining about me, that agreed with exactly what I just said. I wasn’t listing all of Vega’s bad matchups there, just some of characters that are super good because they got crazy buffed in Ultra. Not even a complete list, like I forgot to mention Ken (who is getting heavily nerfed in the console version) like you just did. And I even mentioned how the twins and Rufus still shit all over Vega in Ultra. Like, srsly, are you even reading my posts? You mention “Capcom face rolling nerfs and buffs” in response to someone who has been complaining about Capcom’s herpderp wild buffs and nerfs this whole thread. Seriously, it’s like you don’t even know that you’re repeating exactly what I’m saying.
I want you to take a deep breath and try not to get tilted from reading my posts. If you are going to reply to my posts, please make sure you have read and understood my posts and try to keep a sober mind. You’ll find that we see eye to eye on a lot of things. I assure you that I am a Vega player, he’s been all I really played seriously for the last four years.
Legit question, not trying to offend anyone: Is English your first language? Because you seem to have some big reading comprehension issues.
Dude im not saying that some the stuff ure saying doesn’t have sense in there. We both agree that Capcom shit on vega but u keep adding in comments to imply its “ok” when it is NOT… such as
"But the arcade version hit and I think Capcom realized that they made an uh-oh. They seem interested in nerfing everybody now, like from it’s Super -> AE. and
**I guess you could argue that +5 low jab would let you link into s.LK, and c.MK on counter hit, but yea no that’s not why, they’re just terrified of Vega being good
Stop giving CAPCOM ANY benefit of the doubt…The changes we agree on isn’t going to make us “good”, its going to make him normal… no more up hill battles…please just waddle in disappointment with the rest of us and stop implying silver lining in stuff… Anyways our discussion doesn’t contribute in anyways to the topic so Ill leave it at "maybe I misread cuz my first language is gibberish"
Continue with the Capcom hate
Half of the elfuerte and Dee Jay section was on how free they were on wake up and the buffs they got to keep up…Cant wait to see hoe they 're going to smooth over the VEGA section…
Anyways by the time they showcase a chain one frame long combo every one is gonna have a hard on
"Hello Street Fighters I’m Combofiend and here to talk about the changes done to Vega.
The Spanish Ninja-Matador of Street Fighter has been considered free on wake-up since Vanilla. Has no way to open up opponents. Most hitboxes don’t match the animations. He has ridiculous links. His bnb whiffs on some crouchers. His mask drops during ultras. His stun is very low. Let’s step ahead to see if these got fixed.
He’ll likely mention the “Highly requested j. lk cross up” that 3 people asked for. And Ultra 2’s startup being shortened by a frame after being arbitrarily lengthened.
“Vega’s bad match ups are still terrible, and he continues to lose to being knocked down. But we’ve returned a couple of the tools that we took away for no reason, and gave him some minor offensive buffs that won’t help him when he’s busy blocking and losing his accessories. If you’ve been playing Vega since Vanilla, you’ll find yourself right at home getting jabbed out of Ultra 1 before leaving the ground! Enjoy!”
Crouching HP active frames increased by 2 (2F → 4F)
Close Stand MK hitstun increased by 2 frames (+2F → +4F)
Vertical Jump LK can cross up the opponents
Mask Pick-up from ground is now a command, 2+PP when standing over the mask
L, M, H and EX Rolling Crystal Flash charge time reduced by 10 frames (60F → 50F)
M Rolling Crystal Flash → EX Focus Cancel → Forward Dash advantage on block increased by 3 frames (0F → +3F)
Flying Barcelona Special (Super Combo) now has an attack added during the motion to the wall, does 100 damage; Rolling Izuna Drop damage 100100100; gauge consumption timing changed from when Vega reaches the wall to at the time of activation
Bloody High Claw (UC1) forward charge attack’s hitbox expanded to match the EX Barcelona drop
Splendid Claw (UC2) start-up reduced by 1 frame (8F → 7F)
Charge time decrease on RCF, is that gonna give us any more combos?
One thing that I noticed happening a lot, by the way, was that plinking cr.MP while playing footsies (I guess this doesn’t make sense but I do it anyway) would often result in me picking up the mask accidentally instead of actually poking. Not really a big deal but threw me off quite a bit!

Bolded part must be a typo. But anyway, his offense is a little better and his problems are the same. All I gotta say from now on is: Decapre pls!
