Gonna try Spidey/Mags/Doom.

yea i wanted to say this…mags has a very easy (and very Broadway) infinite… let that gain your meter as you knock off the first character… and free damage on the second.

I’m sure Spidey Magnus Doom would be a better order though.

Spidey/insert infinite guard break starter/anchor is more likely to come from all this. Not saying I’m not going to actually put in work with Mags now but I feel it is a very strong setup once it’s mastered. Right now though I can do it with Storm the entry timing on a kill compared to SnapBack is throwing me off. I think I’ve landed Storms a total of four times in a real match three of which were reactions because my opponent decided to take the hit or try to throw. I also feel Dormammu’s setup should be good as well since he can lay carpet before attempting to go for it.

Iron Man’s, while easy, is tricky. Yes you can kill with Spidey and raw tag in Tony, and any other starter for that matter, to get started but for the raw tag it depends on how you kill them with Spidey to begin with as you won’t always have time to PC after a tag. At the same time you can’t kill with Tony’s super. There is too much recovery on PC to try and do two in a row. If you do the infinite then you need to kill with it or snap back to your problem character and kill them while you can. That’s Tony’s shortcoming which is probably a fair trade off considering the window of opportunity. I definitely do want to find more safe guaranteed setups though so I’ll keep digging.

I don’t see why Magneto/Spiderman/Doom wouldn’t be a better order, what Spiderman lacks in his assist support he now gives to Magneto with an easy guard break setup. You can still TAC into Doom from Magneto if you just add a combo extender from Spiderman. Magneto/Missiles is all you need to open someone up and I feel like Magneto would just be far more consistent than Spiderman in getting that first hit. TACing into Doom is probably a better option than Magneto as well, more damage, less reps, just a better all around infinite, consistent versions midscreen too.

I suppose the issue is that XF2 Spiderman+Missiles probably isnt gonna cut it if you don’t get that first hit, but still.

The problem with that is then it turns into a Magneto based team and there’s just way better team setups without Spidey on them. The UWT guard break is a Spidey gimmick that’s using Magneto to start it. Aside from the guard break, you lose an assist because Spidey’s assist aren’t that great in general, and you have no safe DHC’s which are just as important. Spidey simply was not designed to be an assist character. Leaving him on point backed by disruptor just makes him deadlier. He can already get Mags in to finish combos and reset when need be.

Anyone else having trouble timing the UWT after IM’s blocked meaty PC? I’ve had trouble against training dummies set to randomly advancing guard, it seems like I can’t really react if they decide to pushblock at either the very last second or at the point where it makes them they almost as soon as PC is done hitting them. It almost feels like I’m taking a guess as to how soon they’ll be out of blockstun, since I can’t really react once they start to drop.

Can’t tell if this is just something I’m experiencing because I’m practicing on dummies and not real people. I’ll be able to tell later tonight after I try it on some friends.

Right, but don’t you think strictly comparing the two teams, that Magneto/Spidey/Doom is a better team overall than Spidey/Mags/Doom? Sure there are better team setups without Spidey on them for Mags/Doom but that doesn’t really help people who want to play Spiderman.

I would be under the impression that Spiderman doesn’t get as much out of EMD as some other characters, not that i’m a Spiderman main, but the lockdown is lackluster, the hitstun is low and I would only have to assume that conversions are finnicky especially if you aren’t starting super close off the EMD confirm.

If you’re going to be a Spidey user than use Spidey :lol: I agree mags is a better point but if you’re wanting to run the team just for the guard break you’ll have way more options to do it with Spidey on point. If you were wanting to play with Mags on point I’d simply suggest a new character for Spideys place. Not because I don’t like him but because it’d be hella unsafe for him to get in.

Man once I understand this glitch better uwt will be worth a lot more. Other than that I’ve made a few more discoveries with it that I need to keep testing. One thing I will say though is that with the proper timing its very possible to make uwt into an inescapable reset on hit or block. That’s the small discovery.

That won’t happen. Afaik, all air grab supers are combo starters.

There’s certain glitches I’m working with that say otherwise but normally yes you’re correct
