Edit: I’m planning on doing a little cook out on January 7th at my place for my Birthday. My folks are coming up too. If you guys want to come up for a couple hours of games and Burgers / Hot dogs, let me know so I can buy enough food and drinks for everyone.
I love Poker! Only problem is I can’t mash.
We will have to continue big gatherings somewhere else… I’d like to have a fun weekly stream going. Maybe we can stream the poker, haha. I am gonna go nuts with this stream stuff.
So when is our official next Tallahassee tournament? I heard Turk is planning it?
EDIT #2: Also, we need an official name for our community (like Jax has Storm Underground) so that I can start making graphics for the stream. Any suggestions?
Tried getting ahold of Turk, no dice so i called gamescape and made it for the 14th of Jan. Not expecting a huge turnout but… it’ll make a nice test run for steve. I think we still need to have one large weekly gathering, I find those extremely beneficial and fun and i think eliminating them is only going to hurt the community in the long run. I understand If Ron is tired of giving up his tuesdays for that though, thats perfectly understandable. If i wasn’t living with kathleen, I would gladly offer up my place, there’s always the slc (bleh), and if anyone else has any ideas please let me know. I post a tourney thread up soon…
What makes you say this?
They might be good in the actual “community” sense of socializing and hanging out and crap, but for getting better and leveling up I think they provide no advantage and are actually detrimental to people like myself who can’t resist going from game to game instead of sitting in front of one all night long…
Just to me, I feel like we’re less active and then we don’t improve as much. I was gonna go with steve and wanted to do a weekly stream of sorts, and put some videos up on a youtube account and whatnot, jsut try to grow the scene more. I was gonna do some advertising in town to see if I can find some new players who would be down to play and the tuesday gatherings are a great way for fresh blood to get integrated in

I believe I was saying something like this at the last gathering. Since the big two are usually have a decent number of people in rotation, nobody really strives to improve their game, they just try to win so they can stay on.
I may be offering up my place to host weeklies, but parking is about a million times worse at my house.
We can use my Place Tuesday’s. I know it’s on the other side of town, but hey I have internet for streams, and enough space to play.
As long as i’m not travelling (I usually know a week or two in advance) i’m down for hosting until Midnight on Tuesdays.
Edit: Super Bummed about this, but i have to sell my Sony 32" Trinitron Flat CRT TV.
Need the space for the Pinball Machine to fit. If someone on here wants it, you can have it for 65$. I know I can get much more, but i’d rather someone on here get it and enjoy it. I have it hooked up if anyone want’s to come play on it for a while. It’s got Composite, Component, and S-Video connections. No VGA or HDMI. Also, this is nearly 200 Lbs and is a bitch to move, but I don’t mind putting it into someones car. If you’re interested let me know, otherwise it’s off to Craigslist it goes.
