ULTIMATE Tallahassee Thread: 20 more pages of crying about everything

and thus the mighty have fallen, Guess ill have to carry the mantle.

Man the game is still Street Fighter 4, it always has been since vanilla, super, AE, 2012. The meta game changed Sure, but since when were any of us good enough to worry about the meta game? You love SFIV and you know it, and you’re damn good at it too, and regardless about what you say, you have a damn good character. Nobody in town even played a twin at the level to where it would ruin the game for you. In fact besides ron playing yang, YOU were the only one playing twins. When the game transitioned from Super to AE, the damn game felt the god damn same, it wasn’t that vastly different to where you could say that you meshed well with super but not AE, if any of the changes did change the game, they didn’t affect you cause no one in town picked up on it. Some characters got better and some didn’t, but its still street Fighter Four. I would say that it would be a more valid complaint if it was like Vanilla to Super or Marvel to Ultimate, which had some big system overhauls, but this was just a balance patch and some new characters (that no one in town played)

I don’t know if I’ve even met you (I feel like I did for some SSF4 shit like a year or more ago), but congrats either way.

The ACT is supposed to be easier, so some people take it to get higher scores. I know some schools won’t take the ACT. Honestly, though, it scarcely matters. If you’re super worried about SAT/ACT scores you most likely either 1. didn’t do well enough in school to make it to a school that really cares or 2. are worried about meeting minimum requirements.

Yeah I definitely met you at a couple gamescape tournaments back when out past the governor’s square mall. Appreciate it!

And Drew, I actually agree with your last post! But Chris won’t, because he argues really silly crap that doesn’t make sense and tries to act like things that aren’t that big or that important, are!

So a) Logan, did you propose to your girl? If you did, and she said yes… She’s your fiance, and congratulations!

B) arent there two tournaments coming up? the 10th and the 17th i believe.

Also Andy was playing Yun, Drew.

Andy doesnt count because he moved away and is now forgotten.

Ahh, glad I could get a sufficient troll in today.

Its has absolutely nothing to do with those characters. And to correct you, I hit buttons with the twins. I did combos with the twins. I didn’t play them. I learned a few setups, looked at what their buttons did, and realized that I had enough skill to make people guess on command grabs and jump traps. That’s not playing them at all, just like your stint with Ibuki wasn’t you playing her - that was you hitting buttons with her.

I’ve been good enough to have to worry about it. And for the record, I hear you say things like “when were any of us good enough to xyz?” quite a bit - anyone here
(which is almost everyone here) who’s remotely competent at fighting games.

They sure did affect me, because I play match ups and not people, and me knowing what does what and what beats what vastly changes my approach.

Game felt the same because your character got buffs. Not to say this as an insult, because its not, but you didn’t have to adjust to anything, but only to expand on what was (and is) being given to your character. If my character, by chance, got an overhead that put him at even on hit and/or and a command grab that did… 50 damage and 150 stun, even in tandem with all of his nerfs, I would rock the fuck out of him, not because he’s suddenly boss tier (even though he… kind of would be), but because its something new and refreshing to work with.

Sure don’t, buddy. It was the first game I played with the amount of seriousness I do. I tend to gravitate to it because its the system that I’ve devoted the most time to understanding and manipulating. I have some level of skill, yes, and sure, my character is solid but…

I realize that this is a personal problem:

…its to a point where he has to play very differently in order to be successful, where Rogster has to utilize his life bar in order to take risks with very few ways to get out if he gambles the wrong way. I don’t have definitive ways to get out or tools that make you respect him on wake up, which means I can’t get knocked down, and if I do, chances are I’m losing 40+% of my life, in which I don’t have the setup oriented offenses and safe vortexes to work with to get a life lead back. I’ve got jab… and throw (and the offense that’s built around that), which means I have to take risks in order for you to hit a button other than the correct one. Taking risks with no mix up and no way to wake up, in which I may get, on avg, 130-215 damage if I lose the life lead and get knocked down, which… typically happens at some point? Mmmk. This is the problem that I’ve run into, and the only solution that I’ve come up with is to not get put in those positions in the first place, which is damned hard at anywhere past intermediate level play without high level competition to help iron all of that out. Some people can make it work (Jebailey, PR Rog, etc), but I can’t - not with the way that I play and learn.

And lol Logan  I’d almost say you’re right… but I’d be lying!

Of course I’m gonna play 2012 - I mean, it is SF4. I didn’t say I wasn’t, but hell, I’m bored with it and would rather… play some Marvel!

Is there more Team Dive Kick in the works or are you playing this Ryu/Dante/Magnus team?

Andy it sucks I won’t be in town over break because I’d love to cop some MODOK strats from ya. Coming up with a new team to help me out with TAC setups. Right now I can only get three cubes, gotta practice some plink fly~B.Cube.

Why is it this whole post contradicts everything you have ever told/taught me?

Ryu/Dante/Magnus all of the way. Speaking of which, I need to play some people cus I’m kind of out of ideas for the lab and need to get my ass beat to get the juices flowing.

Drew: huh? It does? Okay. Rather than going on about all of the blah blah, you know the number.

Man but I live for the blah blah!

Chris, if Ron’s havin’ games tomorrow you should definitely go, a blow up session will be there for sure. I’ll hit you up for games once the new semester starts, as I’m stuck neck deep in study guides and java code :\

Jarv’s right, without blah blah our regional forum turns into this:

Andy you’re playing MODOK now? Have you seen this guy’s channel? http://www.youtube.com/user/borawserboxer?feature=g-user

He was doing all the MODOK hotness back when Flash thought VJ was top tier (LOLZ). I wanted to learn him, but then I realized I suck at marvel, and decided not to.

Vergil/Wesker/Spencer. Thoughts?

So Chris just turns into a Squaresoft protagonist?

If you ever peep on the MODOK forums he’s Nos99, that guy is the MODOK god that all MODOK players pray to.

That team sounds very very amazing. (read: broke)

Vergil Wesker Spencer are strong characters, but I’m not sure about the synergy for the neutral game. Vergil doesn’t benefit from either assist in combos. I think James has the right idea with Nova, boy just fucking hits.

So I dropped Arthur…and then picked him back up because S-cancelling means Arthur can actually get places. Also working on Frank West because he gives Firebrand a nice in. Right now, my team is FB/Frank/Arthur, but I’d like to find a team for my orphaned Spencer.

Lol Trollgasm!
I did play Yun, but I was alone and I sucked back then…but Oni is coming for Tallahassee next week so you kids got like another week of winning.

Also, Log I arrive in town on Wednesday. You guys wanna delay the “Typical Tally Tard Tuesday” for some Wickedly Wild WWiggity Wack Wednesday" or something?

Rob: Join me in tier whoring your way to MODOK wins! Run Doom Modok and Wesker in that order with Missiles and the damn runny kick assists. Its like too easy. Doom takes you to the corner for the 50/50 TAC Modok kills you, then you tag Doom back in or setup a spit unblockable with the missiles on the incoming character…brain dead…surprised Logan isn’t playing that team.

I know I’m not important, but I have plans Wednesday.
