Rocket punch to HSF still works depending on the distance of Sentinel’s back to the screen edge. There’s more delay between the hyper flash and the first wave hitting now is what changed.
Wesker, Wolverine, and Phoenix need it BIG TIME. DHC glitch being taken out is a step in the right direction too.

The nerf to Sentinel’s RP is pointless in my opinion. Sentinel isn’t all that great anyway, even worse I imagine in UMvC3 considering the nerf to XF. What I’m really hoping they’ll do is make his flight faster and more responsive to balance it out, but I doubt that will happen. What I REALLY want is his j.lk back (even as a command normal would be nice) because that would give him a lot more to work with in his rush down. Sentinel can only really do a handful of things, j.C, j.S, c.B, or spit, or RP, or HSF spam, his ability to mix it up isn’t any where near as great as it was in MvC2 and this is why he’s struggling in my opinion. I’d much rather have a fast, low damage Sentinel that controls the air like MvC2 Sentinel, than a one trick pony Sentinel that we have right now.

Apparently one of the buffs to Sentinel was that he got faster and his drones assist starts faster. Not that I’ve witnessed it myself but that’s what i heard.
I didn’t notice him being any faster on point, but his cM hitbox seemed to be bigger, hit pretty far out his ass, and he very much does seem to arrive on screen faster after you hit the assist button. That’s where the difference in the assist seemed to be, the time it takes for him to get on screen after releasing the assist button. Exactly how much faster, or if it’s mass hallucination I couldn’t say.
Come to think of it I think that is why they put Berserker Charge where it is… makes it harder to wave dash without doing it precisely so that it would slow him down. I mean he is STILL fast don’t get me wrong I just think it would have been more ridiculous if he had an easy Wavedash…

Yeah, I’ll be sticking with Task/Hsien-Ko/Spencer (Kings [and Queen] of Swing) along with a potential new team with Nemesis on it, unless he turns out to be gimped too. Task, of all characters got freaking buffs. Ones that just make him even better at what he did, at that. Now that’s weird. Spencer got one, and he’s pretty damned balanced too, though just one new move is fine. And Tron may go bai-bai form my other team, because there ain’t room for two gimped characters on one team, provided Ko and Tron stay the way they were at SDCC. I’ll keep using Lei Lei and trying to work with what little she has, even if it’s to my detriment. Because I’m weird like that. But hey, she got jump-cancelable command normals, I guess.
And I laugh a little to myself when people whine about “nerfs” to Dante and the like.

I don’t believe that’s true, though don’t take my word for it. That was probably from the SDCC stream being so crappy that everything looked faster than it was. The Hsien-Ko forums got tricked by that in the hopes of a needed speed buff.
Yeah I wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a placebo effect but I’ve definitely heard a lot of people report a speed increase on the assist at least.
They pretty much took away the most annoying/gay thing about him which was a move that 50/50 mixes you up without assists and has invincibility frames in the middle so you can’t out poke it and goes through zoning for free. Now he’ll actually have to work to get in like X23 and anybody else that is based on melee fighting. X23 actually has a lot of maneuvering tools that work well with assists to help her get in and 2 supers with a bunch of invincibility to get in of the going gets rough. The way things are sounding Wolverine is really sounding mid high tier at best now and not top 3 anymore like he probably is in Vanilla. X23 has a lot of good cheap shit with assists that could easily make her better than him by Ultimate.
Oh, well, if people are reporting that back from SDCC/Evo, then I’d take their word for it.
I thought one of the good thing about Drones was that their slow speed helped with mixups and stuff.
The drones themselves were identical in speed, and still did not create a true block string. Sentinel just got his ass out and put them into the air faster.

Phoenix nerf and wolverine zerker slash nerf are two of my favorites so far. I love that wolverine actually has to work to get in now, but still retains his mixups.
Though my absolute favorite is the way meter gain seemed to change. You no longer get a ton of meter for getting beat the fuck up so that you can just random beam super in level 3 XF 5 times for huge chip, or have a guaranteed Dark Phoenix for getting blown up.
Yeah I really like the start up buff on drones. The start up of drones was garbage compared to MVC2. Once they nerfed Sentinel’s health he was getting blown up by supers all over the place on bad calls with that slow start up. Pretty much any beam based assist can shut out sent drones so now it’ll be more of a force. Which for teams that don’t have beam assists or fast projectile assists…that will definitely be a problem.

Though to be fair, a lot of the hitboxes in this game are retarded as shit. Hulk s. H, Akuma’s Tatsu, Trish and Dante’s everything.

Otherwise it’s pretty much what’s been mentioned. TAC’s are stupid, Xfactor comebacks are stupid, DPH is stupid, assist coming out after getting hit is stupid… and on a personal note I hate Dante. I want him to die. Badly. and slowly. and repeatedly.
Also, I play X-23/Wesker/Dormammu so I am affected by the health nerf, which is fine I guess. I like that they didn’t take anything away from his tools, but I hate Capcom’s mindset of “fixing” everything with health changes. It’s like the top tier in every one of their games is made up of low health characters. When are they going to realise that making a character totally broken isn’t offset by going “but… he has low health!”. Here’s looking at you Yun, Seth, Akuma, Dante, Magneto, Phoenix etc.

On a serious note I hope the changes to his boxes at least leave s.L mostly unchanged. That super-ranged swing is one of his most important tools, and I’d hate to see complaining have put it into an early grave. I seriously doubt they did much of anything drastic to his hitboxes, or much of anything about him (fingers crossed). The controls change was interesting to learn about though. Double Tap over repeating the entire motion (Tempest, Acid Rain, Hammer). Can you say scrub magnet? The change will be met with mixed feelings I’m sure. IT SURE MAKES PLAYING DANTE ON PAD A FUCK OF A LOT EASIER IF THIS MAKES ULTIMATE. I hate being the minority. So since this is about nerfs causing happiness, it’d be this controls change, which while it will take me some time to muscle mem’ newly edited combos, it will make my pad shenanigans a lot less irritating. Though I see a lot of accidental Million Carats & such to be honest.
Also I’m going to jump on the bandwagon for second: Wolverine was Braindead, Zerk Slash needed the nerf and I’m happy for it, and Swiss Cheese was indeed brilliant as a mashing nerf and raise of the bar. Phoenix is in her place, Wesker is better balanced, etc.
