It has a weakness?

Lol I honestly dont count the hitbox as a weakness. You’re forced to block/do cr.ls while it’s out. You can’t combo or dash w/o your character standing up so the hitbox being high is no problem.

Normally, from what I can tell, all meter gain is proportional to the base damage of the move, regardless of how badly it’s scaled, but when in X-factor, the boost is applied directly to base damage (hence the nonsensical damage scaling) and so meter gain is also affected.

What this means is that, just to compound things, you get whole lot of meter from X-factor combos that already inflict way too much damage. It would be nice if meter gain wasn’t boosted by X-factor as well. Dark Phoenix wouldn’t be as silly.

She’d still be silly though. Dark Phoenix should’ve been made harder to obtain for one. None of this resurrection/combo breaker bullshit that she can combo off of. I think it should’ve been a lvl5 hyper that you actually have to combo into. Spamming and teleporting until you get a combo or make the opponent mad enough to
kill you and give you the strongest character in the game should never be a viable strategy in a game. Sure comboing into a hyper is as easy as ABC xx Hyper (hell you can do A xx Hyper) but atleast this would make it so that you can actually attack her/make it so that they actually have to take the chance to get a combo xx hyper. Hell, even making it a melee counter hyper would’ve been better. But thats just me

Just to make it even more clear, the meter gain of a clean hit is it’s base damage, and one meter is 1 million unscaled damage.

I will now be looking forward to the Virgil nerfs that will most likely be handed out. Oro’s + Tele = saltines!

Since when has Dark Phoenix actually needed meter to run train on fools?

Well I may be miss-estimating about how much damage but my highest bnb without meter and two assists does around 590k I think. Corner combo, ground combo to launch, medium, medium, heavy dive kick, assits + heavy dive kick, medium, medium, buster, light lighting, launch, medium, medium, heavy, special, assits + buster. That combo probably does the most damage of my bnbs

Me being upset that zero is getting a nerf when his health is already really low.

Really, because his health is low he doesn’t deserve nerfs? Zero got a minor nerf and a huge buff while Ammy got a ginormous nerf and minor buffs.
Big fucking deal if he has no nerfs. He still has retarded invulnerable normals with fucking stupid hitboxes. He still has about a trillion ways to mix you up. He still has fucking insane high damage. He still has a projectile that goes through everything, makes all of his whiffs safe, and lets him stay back if he feels like it. Looking at the changes to the rest of the S Tier, what the fuck are you upset about?

Just seeing Tron and Haggar assists nerfed along with Dark Phoenix nerfs makes me a happy man.

Those two were nerfed too much.

Switch to viper, chrisis’ viper is godlike and she got the optic blast buff.

In real matches

Zero didn’t really need hard knockdown on his buster for any of his BnBs. It mostly just gave him a really long time to hitconfirm (or a long time to set up a mixup). But with the mixup potential of canceling everything into a high priority 3 frame projectile that’s fucking huge and auto corrects…he’ll be fine.

Good post, eviltoaster’s zero is amazing.

To be fair… the assists needed to go.

What they needed and still do need are buffs to their point game. They don’t have to be substantial, just enough to get by.

Assists toned down? Yes. Characters effectively removed from the game? No.

I think what he meant is that the point buffs you suggested DO need to be substantial, very much so.
