There’s nothing broken about infinites. Overpowered possibly but infinites didn’t make anyone broken in MVC2 and they didn’t make Captain America broken in MVC3 either.

An infinite by definition is simply something that can kill you with the proper execution but in most good fighting games that have them they raise up the damage scaling so high that they’re not worth using to actually kill the person.

Yea I never really understood the huge controversy over infinites. Scaling (assuming the other character has a lot of health) eventually turns every next hit into practically nothing, basically just sets you up for a mix up/reset. Also a lot of them are not practical at all. I remember when people were freaking out over Dante’s cold shower 1-frame link infinite and its like dude… when will anyone use this.

Whether or not they can be considered broken, inifinites are still stupid. If a character is only viable because of an infinite there are a lot bigger problems with that character. I’d much rather see infinites get patched out and replaced with something better if necessary.

I think infinites worked best in MvC2 becuase they can be broken out of. HSD is good, but what happens when an ACTUAL infinite is found? HSD rids some problems, not all, unlike the break at 52/46 hits in MvC2, plus the scaling.

There isn’t a character in MvC3 that is only viable because of infinites though.

That’s basically my point, if it’s not that important to the character then there’s no reason they need to be in the game. They don’t add anything positive to the experience. If we just want more set up opportunities there are options available.

Does anyone else think that Trish is the most boring character to play against in this game? Everytime I see her silhouette I die a little inside.

One of the most annoying for sure. Wouldn’t really call it boring though.

Yeah, annoying too, but other characters like Chris or Dormammu can be annoying but are really fun to play against but Trish is a chore with lots of time outs.

The main thing infinite effects for Viper is how much gauge she ends up using when killing someone and since she builds back gauge so fast the main thing it effects is ability to spam EX seismo. :smiley:

If you use Wesker, Wolverine, Zero, or a spin kick happy Akuma expect almost nothing but superjump + trap from my Trish lol. One mistake from me and I lose all my life in 2 seconds to their easymode ground range while I gotta try to keep em out all game… might as well annoy the hell outta the aforementioned characters since they’re so powerful :rofl:

That causes more problems though. Sure it might work better at preventing infinities, but it has a larger impact on the game.

Also even though you could break out of them, it didn’t really matter much when you consider that the odds of you guessing correctly on a [good] magneto’s mixup or the fact that if some of the other characters touch you (like Iron Man) you are going to die long before he ever reaches the 52/46. disclaimer-not talking bad about MvC2 with this paragraph; iron man is one of the least bullshity top tiers in MvC2 afterall, and MvC2 wouldn’t be MvC2 without magneto’s mixups, no hate

The only thing they need to take away from viper is her hyper having invincibility. She’d doesn’t need that shit nor does it make sense imo.

I’ve started using Wesker since its annoying playing people who use the top tiers, but I usually use Thor, Doom, Task, or Spidey. All of which especially Thor have a really hard time against Trish. What I usually try and do his sphere flame her dive kick which works quite well.

If they took out Emergency Combination’s ridiculous 36 frames of invincibility and beam cancelling powers she’d still have:
Focus attack: Infinite hyper armor and crumples
EX Thunder Knuckle: 10 frames of invincibility and crumples.
EX Seismic Hammer: 15 frames of invincibility and massively + on block, comboable after on hit.
Full Throttle: 14 frames of invincibility.

Mainly it would effect the ability to randomly get Viper out with something that will lead into a Death combo from other characters as at 4 hits it’s practically a DHC glitch with how they fall minus the hard knock down

I don’t even mind all that stuff since they make sense, to me. Emergency Combination can gtfo though :rofl:

All the invincibility? Or just the fact that it blows through Dante’s level 3 (20 frames), Wesker’s level 3 (16 frames), Spencer’s bionic arm (11 frames), etc?

lol damn. Yeah, just get rid of the invincibility. She doesn’t need it.

Funny thing is, Emergency combination is almost always the worst of her invulnerable moves to use… It wouldn’t weaken Viper in the slightest.
