ITS A GREAT GAME & one of the best fighters out there. it might not be everyones cup of tea but I’m guessing 99.9% of people on here bought it… if u don’t like it , don’t buy it.
i can’t get enough of it so bring on umvc3:arcade edition!
An arcade edition of this game would be a big help to the community for this game in general. This game needs a real cross country rivalry like SFIV so that we can see how the technologies develop and have access to more competition and footage.
We need rivalries? We’ll just send Mike “The Boss” Ross or Jago over to call players frauds and whammo! Instant strife
Thank UMVC 3’s failure on my decision not to buy it. No need to bow, I did it for all of you
Why would I buy a game that doesn’t support my interest of fighting game taste? I don’t even feel like they deserve my money going by their past mistakes. Not to mention that I don’t really like the artstyle, or the roster, or the system in general. Content isn’t more important than making a good game out of the content. There other games that deserve more money than SFXTK. KOFXIII, Skullgirl, etc interest me more than this.
Not everybody should be a mindless sheep pretend that we need to give Capcom ever bit of our money.
It’s not like Tekken 6:BR, SSFIV:AE,etc sold as much as their original game. I guarantee you they won’t because historically expansions of the same game don’t sell well. UMVC3 had nothing more than just more content to be honest. Casual sales is a bullshit reason for why UMVC3 failed. Even MVC3 can sale more than any expansion of SFIV.
P.S NYCC is not the FGC, it’s basically a collection of fans that go to gaming conventions.
You should know, Westlo tolerates no negative opinions on SFxT. Or he will rage. So keep your negative comments about SfXT to yourself
Or as I like to call it, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Tournament Edition. Shout-out to NBA Jam.
Putting the not-popular-enough-kinda-bland-looking hawkeye as the main guy on the front cover doesn’t help.
Also the shipping on this game to mexico was limited as fuck almost no one had it in the stocks and those few who had it, had tons of copies of it, almost no one buy it lol, even the girl at the store was surprised that someone was about to buy that game.
That limited shipping was also one of the reason of poor sales, example: “wow i have some money i will spend it in my hobby: gaming! let see what games are available mmm i heard that marvel 3 now have an update called ultimate i kinda liked that game i probably will like the update goes to ask for the game, is not available yet? MODERN WARFARE 3 HERE I COME!!” /Humble opinion
But, how realistic is an arcade edition given that MvC isn’t that popular in Japan?
It’s not that realistic at all considering how much of an investment SFIV AE was already. I would doubt they made a profit off of those AE cabs at all. It would just be nice.
Same thing on PSN. There were a few people I would play regularly, but they don’t seem to log in at all anymore. I’m sure once ranbat season is back there will still be tons of players as there always was, but I’m just not good enough to compete yet haha.
Sorry to sound like a hater, but UMvC3 deserves to fail. Absolutely.
I mean, I ain’t going to bitch about “Super(s)” and “Arcade Edition(s),” but that’s Street Fighter’s thing to do and while they’re at it, at least Street Fighter IV did it right.
A “Super” version in the same year in this generation?!
You got to be fuckin’ stupid, Niitsuma. Stupid.
Oh, and fuck the haters. SFxT is going to be godlike, with Gems or not. (Although, I prefer without)
The pure fact that you’ve said this… while having Psylocke (from UMvC3) in your avatar disgusts me.
It just seems like UMVC3 + Heroes and Herolds seems like the vanilla version they should have released originally back in Feb. I dunno maybe if they had dedicated the SFxTK resources on just one game and make it work but they decided to split resources and come out with seperate games. Money-wise, I suppose selling two games (albeit crappier) instead of one makes sense. The negative effect that has is that it just pisses off the fans.
I still don’t know why the people who hate this game post on the forums. They obviously care.
It’s simple, really; they begin to define themselves by their hatred. Eventually, they spend more time talking about a game they hate rather than posting about a game they love because it’s easier to hate.
The exact same thing happened to me with Metroid: Other M; I eventually got over it and realized I was posting more about Other M than about the games I*** did ***enjoy.
At least KingOfSaurus still takes the hard road and defends something he actually likes.
i’ve only been vaguely checking out this games scene because now that nathan is back from the dead im hoping for a dlc or something
People always do that with every game. People that hated 3S would randomly show up in the 3S thread to say how ass 3S is and leave etc. When you’ve been to tournaments as long as I have you’re pretty used to the regulars trashing each other’s games any ways. That’s why I don’t take offense when people trash a game I like and I have no problem openly talking about what games I don’t like. In the fighting game scene that’s just what you did. “Oh ya’ll playing dat 3S again…ah man that shit is some turd…don’t put that in our PS2 blah blah”.
When it comes down to it people would have complained IMO EVEN MORE if Capcom did not release something. There is no way people were going to happy with even another couple months of insert team here that has to pray vs. Phoenix. For the people that do like MVC3…UMVC3 was something we obviously couldn’t wait for and for the most part were glad was coming because we definitely knew the game needed some fixing. We were gonna pay whatever if it made the gameplay more varied with 12 new characters and less of an emphasis on fighting down Phoenix teams. That’s about most of what we needed to change the game for the better any way. It’s still not perfect but I really do like how a game I already like has got a nice update that breathes a lot of freshness into a game I already did like a good amount before.
I kinda liked Vanilla MVC3 but there were just some things about the game that I wish they would have fixed. They fixed most of what I complained about in Ultimate and on top of that add 12 new characters (which also = like 36 new assists) into the game as well which is really cool. Fresh new take on a game I already liked months later for only 40 bucks. I don’t play video games anymore I just play this and 3S once in a while so I had no problem spending the money.
and also, a forum where everyone is just ball-licking a game is boring
Yea I see this happening as well but who knows we may be wrong. The other poster is right tho. The game has alot of content that I wish alot of other fighting games could include. Story Modes, Color Edits and stuff.
Heroes and Herald is a step in the right direction.
well I think one of the reasons it didnt sell well is because of the release date,it was released the same month as mw3,skyrim,uncharted 3 all those games are VERY BIG most casual buyers will go pick up mw3 only the hardcore FG fan will pick up umvc3,but I think umvc3 well sell a decent amount in the longrun I mean it took ssf4 a year to sell a million
