Fair enough. I was asking more along the lines of the viability of his rush down game, or if that part of his game has been too nerfed.

Something has crossed my mind.
What if they made his flight similar to Magneto or Storms. I heard it got buffed, so that would be a good replacement for a double jump I guess. Air Dash cancel flights would make him better, but his air normals are a little to slow on startup compared to magneto and storm. I donā€™t know if it would help that much.

Also, I think Iron man was great the way he was in vanilla. Just a little undiscovered. If I were to buff him Iā€™d only give his launcher a greater hitbox, reduce the pushback on his normals. Make him be affected less by hitstun deterioration.

they can cancel air normals into air dashes , and have a unlimited amount of airdahses while flight lasts

I think they have near the same startup on J.h. but everything else magneto has is faster. But yea. His flight isnā€™t mobile enough.

well i just checked because i was curious and imā€™s j.l and j.m are quite abit faster than magnetos his j.h is 1 frame slower

the changes in the build are not final so i would not over think things too much. they are trying to improve characters that were not used so i expect iron man to be much more improved later on.

If any IM players go to evo and get a chance to use him in UMVC3 plz post here any changes they felt or notice. I think I read somewhere that they made his fly cancel faster.

his fly cancel is already instantā€¦ dont know how it could become faster than that.

Ok so apparently nitsuma gave a small list of changes. Chindogg announced them in another thread.

So iron man canā€™t double jump, but he can dash cancel his air attacks (on block/hit Iā€™m assuming). Similar to doom.

Hmmā€¦ we might get a Magneto esque flight combo then. Not bad.

Hmmm, IMā€™s air abare might be a little tighter with a lack of double jump, but the damage output might be a little higher thanks to airdash canceling. Interesting.

Actually, it would help his Abare alot, it would make his air game stronger overall I think. Increase in threat, slight decrease in damage.

I agree, while Iā€™ll really miss the double jump if it ends up not being in the final buildā€¦itā€™s a good trade for airdash cancelling. Lil different style to play him, but Iā€™m fine with that, and honestly it might fit my style of fighting better anyway.

Seems like Iron Man will become a poor manā€™s Magneto with the air dash cancel, hope it will make him competitive. Iā€™m staying with Iron Man and Thor no matter what!

Actually, on 2nd thought, if Iron Man can cancel his air move into dash like Doom, he will be sick! Any random j.m or j.m can be convert into combo, canā€™t wait!

Apparantly Thor 's midair command grabs have greater range.

idk if iron manā€™s fly lasts longer than magneto but magz can get like 7 at max, storm can get 5, idk about doom.
