Repulsor Blast is a darn good assist I would think, its just that unibeam has a few more uses. And I agree that in some team setups its more important to have IM as an assist. You only play IM on point if your team revolves around him. In my case my team revolves around Viewtiful Joe so Unibeam as an assist is a must. Which brings me to another point,
Besides teleporters, IM’s unibeam assist is also good for projectile spammy characters like VJ, and Hawkeye.
Thanks Bmc, KJunk, and Zoogstin soo much for help and advice!I feel like Unibeam would be most beneficial to Dr Doom.
Also standing L seems like a wonderful anti air similar to Magnetos… It can be useful with a dash under+assist on an incoming character or just used for feeling out the opponent at close range. Has anyone implemented this into their game?
I’ll say this at least, playing Tony has helped my defense…
Really it hasn’t been so bad lately. He’s noticeably less bullshit than other characters, but I do like his playstyle on point.
I’ve been doing better hitting the Unfly j.H -> land -> dash -> cr.L link, and the IADDF or IADDB j.H -> land -> dash -> cr.L links. It adds a lot to his abare.
i know im pretty much a newb on this thread, but i was thinkin of we got on in on a lobby and played together. since tony is so underplayed on high level playing, and see what we can pick up from eachother. not to mention beating the snot out of eachother is also quite fun! even if only 1 of you guys are down thats cool just add me on XBL! my tag is skyhighclaw!
Some good news for Iron man (and Morrigan, and I think Nova) players. As most of you know by now, today’s patch allows airdashers to block during the falling state after an airdash. This is fairly insignificant to most tri-jumpers since once their air dash ends, they kinda just stop mid-air. IM and Morrigan (and maybe Nova), though, carry some of their momentum during the afterframes of their airdashes, which probably eases their approach a bit. This is probably not some big game changer, but it’s at least something we can use.
Oh interesting. From max Unfly j.H range (like the furthest it can hit, which is stupid far), you can land, dash and link to cr.M into the full combo. The timing is really tight, but it works.
Got around to testing the airdash/block change from the HnH patch. This change seems 90% catered to Iron man. From super-jump height, ADDF ends about 2/3s down the screen, leaving IM with 1/3 screen of momentum-carried travel, minus the defenselessness that airdashes have. The only other characters that benefit most from this change are Storm and Zero, but Storm’s ADDF covers too much distance, and Zero had no problems getting in before this buff.
