my very own ironman combo with my team. hope you’ll enjoy

st. H is, to my surprise, a legit move for AAing and general space control. It’s like a sword. Hits freakin everywhere around IM. Also, there are about 4 frames right before activation time where Iron man’s vulnerable box shrinks down to about crouching height (if not smaller 0_o), making it an even better AA.
But on whiff or block the move seems unsafe…guessing the best thing to cancel it into would be light repulser blast?
Canceling it into flight is pretty safe since IM’s flight is only 12 frames to activate and he can unfly to block after that if needed. Just don’t do it every time or people will take :h: as their cue to move in on you.
edit: thanks vizard
There’s always 2C. That move has always been pretty solid to end a blockstring with.
Getting my flight modes mixed up again, hoho
Hey guys I’ve been looking into picking up IM and I’ve been trying to build a team with him and I was thinking of:
Ironman (Unibeam)/Dante (Jam Session)/ Sentinel (Drones)
Trish (Peekaboo)
Having Ironman on point and getting good with his mid-range game/ space control would be my entire focus, until I’m able to rush down with Drone’s assist, and if my opponent gets cornered control the corner with those two assists.
DHCing seems simple and safe enough- Proton Cannon<–> Million Dollars/DT<–> Sent Bubble/Hyper Sentinel Force
In theory I feel that this team could be pretty great if played correctly, and also depending upon the matchup I could run Trish on point replacing Dante, and having IM 2nd. Reason being is because I feel that all the top characters in this game (Wolvie, Wesker, Spencer…etc) have a problem actually getting in on a good Trish due to her traps, and air mobility, and IM unibeam helps Trish get in/ zone. Peekaboo could help IM land a jump combo (in theory)
I know that there arent any good Ironman’s to watch or anything so I was wondering exactly what bnb and extended bnb’s to advanced combos I should work on and build up too master with Ironman?
As you all know IM has some weaker esque resets after a corner l smart bombs…I know it’s hard for him to land a hit and when he does it results in large damage…maybe this could be useful for some large health chars or when ironman doesn’t have meter to dhc for whatever reason
Off l smart bombs he can
Jump up and throw
Jump back and throw
Or do a jump loop confirm into combo
Lemee know what you all think… I’ll be working with this and sent assist personally
NOob question. What’s 2C?
Anyone else love the fact that, in the corner, when you combo into Repulsor Blast-> Repulsor Spread, you can link a st.:l: or st. for a random ass reset that will have a huge chance of scaring the crap out of your opponent? It’s SOOOO GOOOD. O:
Edit: yourboycurt, 2C refers to Iron Man’s cr.:h:. The 2 stands for the directional input, due to the location of the 2 on a keyboard’s numpad if 5 is neutral, while the :c: stands for :h:, where:
a = :l:
b =
c = :h:
Crouching H. It’s anime game notation. Speaking of, FlyingVe, do you remember me? I played as Viva La Rocann in Blazblue. Noel in CT, Mu from then on out – we played a lot of matches and I think you either used Ragna, Bang, or Mu as well.
So, I’m thinking of building an Iron Man team with Nova and Iron Fish, but I can’t decide the order or if I want this team at all.
I like Iron Man as a #1 or #2, but That leaves Nova as #1 or #2 with Iron Fish as anchor, which really isn’t that bad, except IF has no way in without an assist. So, my questions are:
- How good is Tony as an anchor?
- For this team to work, what would Tony’s best assist be? (I like Repulsor, but it’s not something I need)
- Can he be played with a more rushdown style with a positive outcome?
- What assists does HE need to work properly?
Thanks guys.
I never use Bang… Never.
But yeah, I remember you. I’m excited for CS2! I’ll finally have a game I like that ALSO works online…
Not that solid…best anchor on that team is nova IMO
Iron fist/Ironman/Nova
I LOVE me some Rick Ryder, but I don’t understand why y’all dislike Tony anchoring. I don’t think he’s that bad on anchor; he gets a purdy nice speed boost, and the damage boost is always smexy. I was doing alright with him when he was the last person I had left yesterday, but that may just be MU inexperience since my friends haven’t really played against him before. (Spidey-b/Iron Man-b/Nova-b, btw)
IMO it just seems like people can run away all day…pretty much seems to be the agreement of the thread
Tbh he has no real way to open people up too. Let’s not even talk about how hard it is to get in on people.
It just seems like Nova is a stronger anchor for that team. But im reaally trying to find tech for anchor IM because I feel like his tridash would be pretty fast in XFC3.
And punishing moves with Iron avenger ftw?
My dislike for it is that he really needs assists to catch good runaway characters, and he needs assists to apply his good high/low mix-ups, and he gets a lot of extra damage on his combos from assists.
I really like his options when he’s not forced to go in - his j.:h:'s and ground pokes/specials are really good for playing the neutral game. But if you’re behind in characters, Tony has to go in, and he’s weakest then IMO.
You’ll never be behind in characters if he’s on point - it’ll always start neutral.
Why do you suppose they backpedaled at the last minute and removed the intended buff to unibeam and the alleged ability to fly cancel repulsor blast?
I can’t see how either of these would have been broken.
Well, looking at the Repulsor juggle pattern, Fly cancel on the third hit would be buff. Lol. Ground Fly/Unfly combo into L/M Repulsor into Fly/Unfly launcher air Fly/Unfly flying screen Bomb Super seems like it would do wild damage if they don’t fall out.
Just speculation, though.
