Ultimate mvc3 iron man

Nice. I’ve been looking for a relaunch ADC combo. The Krispy Kreme gained about 1.2 meters. 1.6 if you can get an assist extension.

The times it was working I was comboing into the corner and just didn’t realize it.

I recorded like 4 hours of gameplay earlier and I’ve been going through and editing it now so I should have some stuff up tomorrow hopefully.

I’m going to have to play 100% different if if I wanna keep playing iron man , before I use to rush down

I cringe when I tri dash couldn’t stuff any sloppy assist calls either

OK, I gotta ask. Are you sure about this? I’ve tried for a good 3 minutes and I can’t even land a Smart bomb after the Iron avenger knockdown.

I’ve been able to do it consistently. Iron Man recovers faster from IA than it seems. Try plink dashing.

It still works fine, you can even get a full launch combo afterwards.

Use his back airdash to trijump, it can be canceled immediately into his normals (and you won’t move backwards) and it’s even faster than his old one.

but I don’t move forwards so unless I’m at the right range , I can’t just do it on reaction to a crouch block

not just that but a quick tri dash forward stopped a lot of advances an let me use forward moving assists like tatsu

under stuff like drones I could get 3 tri jump mixups

I’ll try n adjust I’m not patient enough to play any sort of defence for to long

To be fair, IM was really best at Mid-Range space control in Vanilla anyways, his rushdown has never been great.

So I found a million damage combo for 1 bar. It’s not practical, but who cares, it’s cool looking ;).

Very easy combo, but it only builds just less than a meter and because of the new HSD it seems like you can’t combo into Iron Avenger after the second OTG Smart Bombs.

EDIT: Exception being the bigger characters ala Nemesis, Sentinel, Hulk.

EDIT 2: Meant to say it’s easier on the big characters but the timing is extremely strict on the smaller characters. You’re gonna have to cancel H Smart Bombs into Iron Avenger as soon as you input the Smart Bombs.

Mind providing any details? In regards to what makes it impractical, specifically?

this is very ture…

however , you find your own style within a character (unless it is wolverine) his rush down was not magneto , but you would probally be suprised how effective I made it

hey if you think that is bad you should see me play sf4 with chun li , no fireball just walk forward n rushing. sounds stupid but I make it work

Corner only, requires 2 assists. I think it works on everyone though and they can be crouching so I guess it’s not completely inconceivable that someone could land it in a match.

Flight mode is just barely faster than before, I dunno why they were making such a fuss over it. The back airdash trijump is faster and still leaves you the option of canceling into flight for more mixups.

I’m really not liking the reduced hitstun on smart bombs.

I’ll be honest, I haven’t played against anyone with Iron Man yet so I have absolutely no idea if he’s more competitive or not. Heck, I really don’t even know how he should be played. Unibeam doesn’t seem as godly as people were making it out to be.

Oh, you can just link :l: into a launch off a corner throw now. No need to waste time OTG’ing with smart bombs.

I’ll shut up now, don’t want to spoil my vid :D.

Actually, I think they reverted the Unibeam speed buff.

Yeah, Fly and Unibeam do feel the same.

I typically trend towards high-execution characters, but competitively, I can’t even tell what kind of character Ultimate Iron Man is. I seriously don’t know what to do with him. I’ve never encountered a character like this. I hate what they’ve done him so much. Right now, he’s more interesting than he’s any good. His Reset game and Air Throw game are severely hindered by his lack of practical mobility. He truly does feel like trash to me right now.

edit

Slide’s going to be a big part of his game, I think.

His upwards and downwards airdashes are quick. I’m thinking he’s supposed to (somehow) get in your face and make you guess crazy high/lows. They really are super fast.

Don’t really need to be particularly technical with him now, almost everything does 700k damage because of derpy mashed supers and shittier scaling on his normals. The end result is that elaborate combos are even less worth it than they were before. Way to go Capcom, good job making this game even dumber .

But they were much better in the last game because Iron Man could get in your face much easier >_<

so after having spent about 30 minutes with him in training mode… all spent on movement. i think hes better.

his priority is MUCH MUCH better. he can now occupy the correct amount of space with his air h.

jump forward airdash down back h seems godlike control of real estate plus SLIGHTLY moves IM forward… this is huge as it means IM can control space without backing up. his H rightly now seems like DAT PIPE, which is what it SHOULD have been in vanilla.

anywho that pattern will make players respect dashing/airdashing in on IM and he should be able to get off a boxdash s… which seems REALLY good now as well. doesnt go as far so its harder to miss characters… i TOTALLY get why they buffed that move… they want IM boxjumping in with it since it hits low and cant be ducked, also his new airdash means that he wont go as far as in vanilla so no needing to space it hard or have it wiff over a crouchers head.

also repulsor blast> SPREAD got a FATTY defensive buff. now when IM does spread he moves backwards which should make him safer, plus spread having no left right command measn that if im gets crossed up while blast is active spread will still come out and im will back up on block.

this isnt to mention the biggest buff of all about that move which is that spread cancels blast SO FREAKING FAST. the fastest speed to cancel should be default. as well as L blast should be used over m and h simply cause L has just as much priority, and comes out quicker which means spread is quicker as well.
combine the speed of the cancels and the backwards moving attribute plus hard knockdown and you get a highly buffed move which will help to complete IM’s midrange priority game… no reason to get lit up by zeros jump h anymore if not covered by assist cause im can just blast that shit theoretically.

IM is looking good in my eyes, midrange dominator with tools to actually do the job now.

his movement is wonky at first but i dont think hes designed to move around a whole lot, he seems tp be more like a sim style character and his airdashes are his drills… if that makes any kind of sense.

anywho my opinion is subject to change but i can see how he is pointing to be played, whether or not the style has merit remains to be seen.

So, I’m still not super well versed in the new IM, but I was playing a bunch of matches today and my opinion is very split.

All his moves and specials and abare are much better, he’s doing lots of damage and it’s much nicer to confirm into. Cross-up jS is nice too.

…However, this new dash is really, really bad, it all looked good in training mode, but against real people its so slow that its really hard to mount any sort of offense.

That said, the character is so different that it could take a while to adjust, so I’m not 100% on my analysis, I’ll need more time.

You dead ass?

I remember you specifically giving me shit for saying this the other day. Are you an Iron Man enthusiast and a hypocrite now?
