Has there been any comment about a PC version of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 for PC? I have a laptop that can run the game and I would love to have UMvC3 on the go. Well I would buy it if it came on the PC. It would save me from having to buy a portable Hori LCD for PS3, and carry that bulky mess around. I guess I wanted to start a thread and poll to show Capcom there is interest in a PC version. I don’t mind if it comes in 2012 behind the console versions.
Please refrain from Piracy discussion, we’ve heard it all before. This thread is to just take the temperature of people who want and are willing to pay for a PC port of UMvC3.
If anybody at Capcom is reading, for the last poll option, I mostly care about all of the characters, Including DLC characters being playable offline for in person vs, single player and training mode. If you want to lock out dlc costumes and stages offline, that is okay for me. So long as it is similar for what was done for SSF4:AE then it sounds good.
I would think that playing Marvel on something portable like a PC laptop is a great idea. They did it for AE. It is great for people that travel a lot, want to practice MvC3, but don’t want to carry an HDTV or console through an airport. I recall my hotel room in the rio at Evo having a TV where installing a game system was impractical, due to being bolted into a dresser. I was glad I didn’t bother to bring my PS3.
I for one think it would be great if they ported Marvel to 3ds or Vita, but no arcade stick would suck.
I would love to have an arcade port as well…
but if you thought my idea was stupid…
how much business sense does it make to port it to arcade?
There are like 10 arcades left in the US that might buy the machine.
It makes a lot of sense in Japan though.
I would like them to have something to play on.
The first rumor which revealed the name “Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3” did mention that a PC port is in the works. It’s a possibility but then again considering that Capcom was giving out free PC SF4:AEs for EVO players you need to ask if making a UMvC3 PC port will make more business sense than an Arcade port.
Ever since I could remember I’ve been a PC player at heart… First Warcraft to reel me in, then Civilization with it’s unbelievable tact that never made any sense to me, then Half Life with it’s awesomeness, and finally Counter-Strike which permanently cemented me as a PC fanatic. Do I own SF4:AE? No, not really. Do I own Akatsuki Blitzkampf and Melty Blood? You’re damn right I do. I love the PC, I love the way a keyboard feels, and I’d absolutely shnat my pants if Capcom ported UMvC3. Please please please please please. I’ve already got in on pre-order to PS3, and it’d be amazing if I could get a copy on the PC.
Btw, I picked the wrong choice. If you can change that, I’d appreciate it. (Yes, but I don’t own it – to – Yes, and I do own it)
Just picked up AE from steam for my laptop, and my mind is blown at how amazing it is to have a portable fighting game set up with me at all times… It’s only the new Macbook Air, so I have to turn down some of the graphics (I even disable the background to absolutely make sure there are no hiccups), but DAMN. I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. If only we could get collapsable arcade sticks…
But back on topic. I would buy it in an instant, just please release a benchmarking tool again!
I bought AE for PC (then got a free copy from going to Evo, which I gave to a friend) even though my interest in SF4 is functionally nil now. Just because it’s a better experience if I do feel like firing it up, and to encourage Capcom to release their other fighters for PC as well. I’m sick of consoles, I really am. Just like AE, UMvC3 for PC would be a pre-order on the first day it’s possible to do so for me.
So yes, I’d buy it despite already having a console copy.
I would love this to be released on the PC. PC is the superior platform. Those with beefy computers get to enjoy heightened graphics (the difference is more than merely noticeable), smoother gameplay, and depending*- even portable play.
The other part that I love about PC ports (i.e. AE) is that the online is unbelievable. I don’t think anyone can argue, playing on PC is hands down the best online experience. And that means a HELL of a lot, especially since MvC3 is practically unplayable online through the consoles.
so get that “whats the point” shit out of here. not interested? its most likely because you wouldn’t benefit from it.
SIGNED - Do want PC port!
EDIT* - OH YEAH, i spoke to Seth Killian at EVO about this very topic and you know what he said? He thought it was would be a GREAT IDEA, and a smart move on capcom’s part. PC is huge in other parts of the world, and Capcom would reap the benefits. (he did also note that nothing like that is in the works that he knows of
I was in to emulation for a long time considering their are almost no arcades in Serbia. And a few arcades that ware actually available usually had a bootleg KOF cabinet whit 3 buttons. I prefer plying fighting games on a Keyboard (and before people start bitching about how its impossible lets just say i can do FRC combos in GG using the keyboard so STFU)
I might get a stick in the future but i currently don’t have 100 euros to spare on a arcade stick.
I do own a 360 but i seriously suck at playing fighters on a pad its just hearts my fingers because i cant do combos whiteout drooping them 40% of the time and don’t have as fast execution as on a Keyboard.
I both a 360 to play single-player exclusives like Lost odyssey and Red dead redemption.
I had a copy of MVC3 PS3 that i won on a MVC3 tournament but the net-play was real bad and i don’t like plying fighters single-player i only fiddled around in the Practise mode and sold the game later.
I who’d however like to have a PC version because it who’d allow me to use the keyboard and thus save money and not to mention give me better online communication.
I allso dont give a fuck about DRM in a game made to be played online because i probably wont even play SP except for the practice mode.
The DRM options on the poll make me sad because even if 10 million people voted on the last choice Capcom would still use GFWL and require constant online connection to play the game. They just don’t really care.
