I think that the dlc you bought for mvc3 transfers over to ultimate mvc3. If not, then fuck you capcom.

Capcom isn’t going to give something out for free that you once had to pay for, but they aren’t going to make you buy it twice. Of course it’ll be handled just like SFIV.

I’m actually really excited for this. I was a little pissed that not all the marvel characters I wanted got in, Gambit etc… but Doctor Strange is a lot of win. I just hope he’s got a classy voice actor.

Eh Ill wait till ill see footage from other chars I guess, I still think its way to soon, I still think Capcom was lazy with MVC3: 75% Done edition, I still think half of the stuff in UMvc3 should have been in the original, I still think that I’ll and prob. the majority will only play 4-ish out of those 12 new chars from looking at the comments,. When you look at it like that, its not a steal lol. (Then again no footage yet, but I like to play chars I know from games, I dont know half)

I just want to see if Capcom does anything with her. My inner pessimist is telling me that Capcom barely touched her or wil touch her, though there’s another force urging me not to give up hope. If all else fails, well, low-tier represent and wait for DS4.
Also, Shuma’s character art just looks boss.
Oh I have no doubt the dlc will transfer over, I guess I was kinda hoping people who didn’t buy it would be able to get it for free with umvc 3, but that would have been a little unfair I guess. Oh well, c’est la vie.
Guardians of the Galaxy is an excellent series. It’s the Dirty Dozen in space, and part of the reason it’s so exciting is because that guys like Rocket Racoon, Drax and mutha fucking Star-Lord (love that guy) are third string characters. They can actually die. Captain America, Spiderman, Iron Man… none of them are ever in any lasting danger because the reader knows they will be back next week. When Rocket Racoon sets up a machine gun nest IN GROOT’S HEAD to go on a suicide mission you know shit’s about to go down, and that he may very well die in a blaze of glory.
There’s also something I like to call Robo’s Law; the more something makes Psychojosh cry delicious bitch tears, the more I like it.
no new females is disappointing, but let’s wait for gameplay videos before bashing the new characters.

Vergil for me was the trump card for capcom side, dont bash me yet, everyone else is awesome. 
We could have did without Jill if it meant we were getting Nemesis. There has to be one Capcom female that deserves the attention.

I’m trying my best to reserve judgment for UMVC3 but seems as if they have not fixed the core issues with the game play. There are many things that are flawed within the game engine that need to be re-worked. MVC3 is unbalanced dare I say even more so than MVC2. Combos are easy, damage is extreme, and above all X-Factor is beyond repair (stupid game play element that is much more than a comeback factor, it’s game breaking and random). UMVC3 seems to miss these problems entirely and although X-Factor does seemed to be toned down it hardly means much in the grand aspects of game play. I’m not one to cry and ask for balance as I believe with a roster this large and demanding we will always see some dramatic level of balance skewed. Furthermore, using Wolvie as a example (picking on him ‘cause it’s easy) slowing down Wolvie’s Berserker Charge, not nerfing his divekick hitbox and giving him a new mashy move is not very beneficial for overall balance and these kinds of actions ruins the hope and integrity of any future VS. games. I mean game play aside fans are divided on character choice.
I also feel obscurity of the characters is not the catalyst for primary upset in this game. Capcom seems to be borrowing characters from a limited palette of titles and original character choices. As many people mentioned why do we need four Street Fighter characters, three Resident Evil characters, three Devil May Cry characters, two overused and boring Darkstalker characters (not hating on Felicia and Morrigan but when are we going to see some Dimetri or Lord Raptor?) etc. As fan of many Capcom games and franchises I shutter to think of all the great characters and games they could have pulled from. Perhaps it needs to be said again but how about some Power Stone, Rival Schools, Plasma Sword and Red Earth for starters. All these games feature characters with fleshed out move sets and unique playstyles. These characters would lend such a creative unique vibe to the roster, but instead we get a Ryu AND Akuma? Marvel’s side I’m not sure I understand but I like to see love for obscure characters but Rocket Raccoon is really stretching it. My first reaction to the UMVC3 trailer and screenshots was this is looking an awful lot like Smash Brothers rather than MVC3.
I just hope the next coming months there are some inviting changes. As a loyal Capcom fan it seems that they could have made some really interesting choices and rep some great old characters (same with Marvel) from different genre’s but instead they seem content to leave them in to rot in obscurity.
P.S. I’m as old school as they get but why the interface changes to the hud and character select screen? It seems like it was one of the few things MVC3 did right, now they seem to do all wrong. I feel so hard done by and I understand why I’m not the only one who feels this way.
I wouldn’t have minded if Jill and Shuma were on disc for UMvC3, even though I have them on vanilla. But I could see some people getting salty over it.
Either way, I bought the CE so I got them and I don’t mind what they do.
Well, if they did make this DLC onto the original with the characters 5 bucks a pop like Jill/Shuma, I’d gladly pay 40 bucks for a whole update with new chars, instead of 60 bucks for 12 characters.
And I hope the Wesker nerfs arent true, I would be quite sad.
And the new roster isnt bad, except for Nemesis, I really dont think they needed another RE characters.
As much as I hate to admit it, Megaman would have been a better choice, if only to stop the whining ofer MML3 x.x so tired of that.
I am just saying Dare Devil has to be in, why make a fully detailed model and only Place him in the background. No seriously he is as detailed as ghost rider.
