I thought I saw in a Hawkeye gameplay footage that shooting a projectile built very little meter even if it hit nothing.
I felt bad for you for being so bitter. For fact, I am glad that everyone got in even few inclusion made me scratching my head but they seem worthy to be in.
They’re worthy, but in my opinion Gene and Megaman would likely be better characters than West and Wright. I’m not at all angry, because none of them got in over strider, so i don’t see it as a disgrace.
Megaman’s never really been good in the Vs. series, so I doubt that.
He was ok in MvC1, but that’s it really.
I have reached the point with MM that I hope they put EXE just to troll the fans after all the bitching I have heard.
Ryu, Spiderman, and hulk weren’t either.
Those three characters are much more mainstream than Megaman these days. And once again, Both Tron and Zero are in the game, so it’s not like the series isn’t being represented. Zero’s very good in this game, and tron is also fairly good. (Though nerfed slightly)
are we seriously back on the “no megaman” thing? clean up your salt guys, maybe look forward to the possibility of him being DLC if that isn’t already debunked by capcom.
I don’t see the point this has with Megaman being a potential capable character. So the “not being good in the vs series” changed to who is more mainstream? I don’t care if it’s EXE, X, a new megaman. They’re all the same to me… however lets be honest, Megaman and Gene would have been a great addition. I think Capcom should bring them both in for DLC.
They probably will be DLC I’m sure, especially if they made it to the final round of character choices.
Either way, I’m more than happy with the current set of characters slated for the game. Megaman or not, I think they made good choices.
Honestly? I’ve always wondered what Megaman could bring to the table Zero couldn’t. I mean Zero already has his own buster. That’s really all Megaman had going for him (Unless you wanna take account a different megaman like his doublesoul or guts element changing style) I personally never was deep into the X series. But X does seem pretty cool. But I’ve seen people suggest him be like Ammy with weapon changes and stuff but c’mon… Zero was the perfect fit for this game over Mega and to say Megaman should have been in it over Wright and West (Two very different and diverse characters that can make the game different and more interesting.) Over having another weapon changer like Ammy or another Zero sounds lame in my own opinon. Which is why I am still kinda skepticle about Vergil playing like Dante. But apparently from what I hear he isn’t similar to Dante at all… but we shall see. Gene would have been pretty cool I guess. If we do get any DLC characters though? I want Doc Ock (Since he was already near finished on the Disc with Frank, so he actually seems like a likely possibilty) and for Capcoms side? I guess I’ll go ahead and say Gene xD Since Capcom did say he was at the top of considered characters to put in with Megaman.
But yaah.
I’m really happy with the Roster, Strider hiryu is in so nothing makes it wrong… i also love the fact that they put Rocket Raccoon in.
However, honestly… imo. A Capcom roster that is Strider, Nemesis, Vergil, Firebrand, Megaman X/EXE/Starforce, Gene > Strider, PW, FW…

Agree on the Gene part. But Vergil getting in was a win for me so i’ve been able to pass off the Gene exclusion better (even though I played God Hand religiously at one point). I bet them including Iron Fist axed off Gene’s chances in the final round because they would be similar, except Gene would have signature roulette roll attacks (plus his action button attacks) and a god hand mode.
Frank West and Doc Ock were empty folders on the disc.

I am morbidly curious about Rocket Raccoon, but seriously, fuck these characters.
To clear a few of the “Vergil will be a Dante clone” things, Vergil HATES guns, he uses a smaller sleeker sword with a more traditional fighting style (i.e. using the sword sheath as a defensive mechanism with the sword drawn, and hell doesn’t even draw his sword that often except for guaranteed damage. I can see him being somewhere between Wesker and Dante, range of Dante but more projectile focused specials (the spirit swords) and lower priority, and probably gap closers like Wesker (not teleports necessarily but a solid wavedash and low to the ground movement. With the spirit swords and the bullet deflection I can see him being a solid anti-zoner, possibly a timed projectile reflect that he can move with (slow/walk speed) that will last for like say 1-2 seconds? Allowing him to gap close, maybe make the reflects go in random directions so as not to be completely OP.
I’m sure that Vergil will play differently from Dante, but when people call him a “Dante clone” I’m pretty sure they’re referring to the fact he’s an androgynous anime pretty boy with a sword which we already have more than enough of in this game.
What about the oversexualized 8 females already in the game?
To be fair, he is Dante’s twin brother, so to people that don’t know the series…
