Yeah I’d agree with Zero, but Strider is a bit of a stretch. I’m surprisingly excited for Nemesis now, even though I never wanted him in the least. I wonder if we’ll see a popular Resident Evil team this time around.
I don’t see why they couldn’t make Mega Man substantially different from how he was in the previous Marvel vs Capcom games. They did it with Jill, and people didn’t even want her to be different.
But seriously, I’d like to see a Mega Man that has as many abilities as Dante, if not more. There’s a huge pool of abilities he has to choose from - God knows he
has appeared in almost as many games as Mario, and in almost every game, he stole 8 abilities from bosses and usually got some abilities involving Rush, Beat, Tango and the rest of the cast.
Not that I really care. I highly doubt Mega Man would replace anybody on my current team, even if they did make him top tier. I just find the outright dismissal of Mega Man as even possibly being a competitive character misguided, as they are basing it on his MvC1 & 2 appearance and nothing else.
I predict Nemesis to be capcom’s sentinel, meaning their giant character… it would be cool if the UMVC pairing is him and Sentinel IMO.
Also, the Zero=MM thing is kinda wrong (Zero already has a buster, he and megaman won’t be different…). The same was said with Hawkeye and Taskmaster, and even with X-23/Wolvie, and Ryu/akuma during tha Vanilla pre release. And in the end, all turn out to be different characters in gameplay.
I wonder if Jill and Shuma are even going to get alternate costumes. I mean, wouldn’t they have to sell their costume pack separately? Otherwise you’d be buying a costume pack with the possibility of having two unusable costumes. I guess they could release a pack but have it be cheaper than usual? Or maybe it will be included as a free bonus? I really have no idea. I would like a STARS costume for Jill like all of the other RE characters have, but it seems like Capcom would have to go out of their way to make them.

Why not? I don’t know, it would seem weird to have Jill and Nemesis on a team (or facing each other) without her looking like she’s a member of STARS.
