Updated OP with Ika and RayRay’s new Magnetic Blast loops as well as XF3 combos. Will add notations and descriptions later.
If anyone can find me who originated the XF3 Hyper Grav :h: loop it would be appreciated just so I can give him credit, I know he posted on the old combo thread.
So turns out the mag blast loops aren’t that difficult, who woulda thought? Although Im doing a very basic version. Now I just gotta start working on the hyper grav loop, see you clowns in about a month I guess.
Well thinking about the combo I put together, it is specific in the chars it works on, the conversions you need sometimes etc, and the fact that on 2P side it won’t do as much damage as on 1P unless the chars have a biggish hurtbox (or for some reason they are Deadpool or Felicia) So I was getting a little frustrated with those specifics, especially the 1P/2P side thing, and how specific I was getting, one of the conversions for the hard tag part on say Viper was:
Hard Tag to Doom > st. + Dark Hole xx Molecular Shield M > Dark Hole hits > walk forward :s: into BnB. On another character it had to be M.Shield L. etc.
So after playing about with the hard tags with Mag/Dorm/Doom some more and working with what Alioune had already worked out, I realised as an alternative without the THC you can still get 950k+ from a throw building just over 2 bars and spending 2. (962,900 after DHC to Dorm, 976,900 with the linked st.M). So I hadn’t really improved the existing tech that much for the team with the THC thing.
Meter positive 950k from a throw is pretty dumb in itself IMO, I couldn’t dream of that damage with my Wolverine team without a TAC, only made worse by the fact that this team is so strong overall to begin with.

It’s more difficult than the THC one and for less damage, but the meter is good and like Kanta said up there you can end up spending 3 bars when you really only want the 2 bars.
BTW is there a list on the Mags forums of who the Mag to Doom hard tag will work on and with what starter after the tag? If not I made one yesterday if people are interested…

I dunno if anyone found this yet, but I found a pretty cool (but kind of impractical) variation of the ROM (maybe call this the S ROM?) that can be done off SJ height confirms in the corner. It’s basically just [SJ, j., add, j.:s:, SJ j., add, j.:h:, SJ j., add, j.:h:] done really fast and looks really cool. No real point in doing this other than swag I think, lol.
After maining Magneto for a week I understand why Joker is so talked about now. This characters cool stuff is not easy in the slightest. Most def the hardest execution character out of the good characters easily. I still can’t get this dudes ROM down 100% consistantly after a full week of practice. Combo is either insanely hard or I’m just doint it wrong.
I got used to doing the addf version of the ROM from Vanilla, while it still works in this game, add is recommended for its speed. There’s a rhythm to it, and you’ll get it eventually. It’s not that hard.
Magblasts on the other hand… sigh That shit is frustrating as hell. I can do Magblast combos fine, but when it comes to neutral game stuff like boxdash/tridash Magblasts, it’s like my execution falls apart. ESPECIALLY on the 2P side. Shit is such a weird ass motion, I swear.
At Hax if you do jMHS hypergravM at the end instead of jHS you should hit 800k fine. I recommend you train with the dummy in the partner while practicing those motions, you have to grind them out because not even Champ has them down( I saw him struggling on stream trying to do them).
On some days my Magneto feels like he’s S-Tier…on some other days he feels like he’s B tier. I feel like if I don’t play him for a week, my execution with him will go to shit.
I remember I spent almost a week with Dante/Vergil/Strider…and then went back to playing Mags and for the first hour I was like HOW THE FUCK DO YOU DO THE MAGNETIC BLAST MOTION haha
totally assumed the combo would be too scaled at that point for jM -> jH to connect, but i was wrong. unfortunately jM only added ~1k to the combo; it did 794.4k with jM iirc.
i was finally able to get 800k though. after jH ad magblastL, jump and jH addf jH (the Fanatiq) before you sH. this makes the timing on the 4th hypergrav loop extremely precise, but nevertheless, 804.5k.
