Ultimate Dante Combo Thread. Jackpot! Yeah baby!

heh, technically we were. But silentleroy presented an answer found in a vid demonstrating an air grab-n-hard tag.

I have to admit, I never quite got exctly how we can assure the groundbounce reset happens. if I’m not mistaken, it’s about having certain hits of Sky Dance either hit or not hit. But either way, how can we make sure it happens? Assuming I can do Sky Dance and count on the bounce reset, both combos seem perfectly logical and great, thanks to you both!

I really like the concept of Dark Hole allowing for a second, later-in-the-combo Shredder launch. I’ll have to play w/ the timings of the moves involved, figuring the timings are likely rather specific to get that desired effect.

You get used to knowing when it will and won’t reset. Either way, it doesn’t really matter and just results in slightly less damage, but won’t fuck up your combo.

Just practice it over and over and you’ll get it. The sweet spot is just below the enemy.

Skydance isn’t just limited to GB reset and Hard knockdown states btw. I’ve noticed there’s at least 4 or 5 different skydance knockdowns.

I tried the dark hole, cold shower, re-shredder-launch a couple times and it failed. I certainly didn’t expect success right away, but in the interest of practicing correctly, any specific timing ‘tricks’ to making that work? Certain parts partic fast, delayed, immediate, simultaneous, etc?

Btw I re-watched ur match vid u posted. I love ur bolts extention w/ dorm utilizing the 0-spell liberation. That’s pretty damn slick. :slight_smile:

I manually time it, personally. I slightly walk back, call dorm, slight pause, DF+HH~S. Some people backdash + call dorm, and then do cold shower. That works too, but you can’t do acid rain that way (I don’t anyways, in tourny setting, so it doesn’t matter much). If they fall out before/during prop shredder, you did cold shower too early. If they fall out just before the launch and ground tech, you did it too late. It took a while to grind out but I can do it really consistently now. You’ll get it eventually.

Awesome, thanks! I was playin the friend who I said is delving into dante strange (he has plasma doom in back). So I played it too for training purposes, tho I had mag in back, naturally. And man I really dug it! So now I’ve got vergil, dorm, AND strange as the meats between my dante mag sandwich. But when I got to the extension phase of a given dante combo, I was left scratchin my head. So out of curiosity, is there a Bolts equivalent to what we’ve been discussing w/ rapid slash and dark hole?

I’m gonna watch the vids u and gefen posted again tomorrow in case my question is already answered therein. But in case its not, figured id ask. Then ill have the cheap-as-shit-with-disruptor trifecta in full effect. Lol

Unfortunately, there isn’t. All the bolts extensions I’ve found with dante can be found in the Strange/Dante Synergy vid. They are larely impractical not because of execution but because you’ll likely be using bolts to get hits and not be able to use it in a combo.

Combo extensions,mixups,etc.

Are there any other extensions that Dante can do with Ryuenjin aside from the wallbounce xx acid rain one?

I’ve been trying a bunch of different things with no luck.

I’ve been messing around with X23’s CS assist, in the corner/close midscreen, you can combo into it and link into crystal or drive with a tighter link. In the corner you can link c.h + assist > million carats > whatever. MH +assist xx bc dj. Hxx air play > etc.

There’s a local Dante/zero that does full screen otg > teleport > iad xx rain storm + ryuenjin xx hammer.

I think dp assists are actually really good for him. He’s one of the few that can actually mixup and convert reliably.

Someone said Dorm extensions with Dante, School is slacking up for a little bit and I would gladly show you my BnB’s with Dante/Dorm. Always 900k and 1 mil if you do the double volcano combo with disruptor. Shoutouts to FrankieG.

With any DP assists, just tossing an Acid Rain after it is really good, in corner they can’t escape the mix up. Miscreen just, only back teching avoids it depending on the spacing.

Allright, I need help. I need a blueprint/roadmap for my team - Wesker (gunshot)/Dante (Weasel)/Magnus(Dis) and Dante/Wesker/Magnus.

I quit this game for a few years and had a ton of tech and a great approach I was developing until I stopped playing. Now, getting back into things, I’ve had a hard time finding what my focus should be, considering the meta has changed so much. While the team has okay synergy - it’s pretty much garbage in a bracket unless I can maximize it. In terms of damage in particular. Only starting Wesker can I even get to 900k with two meters. It has reset potential with unblockables and a strong neutral with Magnus beam, but if I can’t consistently kill people, it feels worthless.

I need guidance. I need good incoming setups ideas, combo ideas, neutral ideas - whatever you can give me.

Also, I need some help with using Jam Session. Never really considered using it until now. I need good confirms with Magnus and Wesker using this Assist so I can add some depth to my team.

I know this post is a bit unfocused but that’s mostly a reflection of how lost I feel right now. Any help will be appreciated.

For any of you guys that perfected doing stinger after shot loops how do you time it?
I used to be consistent with non max hit shot loops but I’m having trouble remembering how I time it and I can’t get the stinger 90% after the max hit loops.

For 1 shot, I just do one after the other. S~H~H. Bam Bam Bam.
For max shots, press stinger when the last shot of all hits their foot, at least that’s how I time it.

What exactly is the difference between doing max shot loops and the one shot ones aside from the obvious? Like, in what situations would you use one versus the other?

Its easier doing one but you dont get as much meter build and damage

Non-max hit shot loops, I wait til Dante stops shooting, when they start to fall after the last hit, I press stinger.

I have a question for you guys: Is there any way to end the TAC infinite with Dante using Sky Dance, so you can get the super long hard knockdown consistently?
