Does anyone have any good dante combos which lead to a tac opportunity?

What exactly is the mechanic behind Stinger (Wallbounce), Air Trick, Skydance into the hard knockdown?

I’m guessing it’s height dependent because I can’t it to work on a grounded opponent with 1, 2, or 4 Cold Shower Shots. I also couldn’t backdash s.S~H f.H into it, but I think I remember (from Rikir’s first Ars Demonica video I believe) seeing it done after Beehive (backdash) s.S~HHHHHH f.H, so the height requirement doesn’t seem outrageous. Does it work better out of shot loops for the extra elevation? Is it character-size dependent?

The questions are more to outline what I’ve been thinking/trying than to be answered individually :stuck_out_tongue: I’m just wondering about the spacing because I’m not sure if it’s simply a tight link I’m botching, even if it’d seem pretty easy to buffer correctly. It’d be a really useful tool for a Dante/Frank player if anyone has thoughts.

@ 10:42. Cloud’s doing a sweet hammer confirm I don’t/haven’t seen much. It seems to be very effective too and I’d like to learn it. However I’m not that experienced with shot loops like that, so can anyone help?
I can’t figure out his timing and howmany times he shoots. The first time he did the combo it didn’t seem like he delayed the shot loops after the H/S, the second time (10:42) he did delay it a bit. I think its a 3 H press shot loop correct? I can’t seem to really connect the S after also.

I just found what I think is a new combo. I am going to try to make a video of it.

From an air throw in the corner you can actually get a full solo combo without X-factor. What you need to do is pick the opponent up with SRK+L~L (hitting all 20 hits) and then you can follow up (only moves that hit are L, M, or SRK M~M)

So the combo is essentially this:

Air throw SRK+L~L SRK+M~M (dash back) S~HHHHHHH fH S+A QCF+H (then whatever). This actually gets me level 4 Frank from a hard tag, which I really like.

Say I just landed a viper combo that ended in the corner with burst time and im dhcing to dante. does anybody have a devil trigger combo that does more damage than the standard gun super in this scenario where the opponent is in the air? Could it even possibly be more damaging?
Im thinking ice to pop them back in the air then that air beam loop, but I havent been able to put anything damaging together.

Not without XF. Scaling is too high at that point to do anything meaningful. Best I think you can do is Million Carats > Stinger > Revolver > Stinger > Fly > Thunderbolt x5 > j.L

Couldn’t you loop a couple of acid rains before? Damage would still be awful, but it’s something I guess.

Really though, you’re better off using your assists on Viper to extend your combo and just go into million dollars with Dante.

Viper’s scaling is pretty gross at 20/30 compared to Dante’s 5/5 while not being able to build meter in DT.

Yeah probably, I forget Viper pushes the character a lot higher than other supers. Could probably get 2 acid rains into whatever.

So, sorry if this is unwanted information, but I’ve been screwing around in training mode with XF3 Dante, and a lot of things link that don’t normally. If people already know this, my bad, forgive me, I’m still a relatively new Dante, but I haven’t seen these done yet.

-From Killer Bee, in the corner, you can dashback st.S and delay into full shots and link into dfHHH wallbounce

-In corner, an otg’ed opponent into dfHHH wallbounce, you can bold cancel into QCF+MM and then link j.S

-You can link st.L off a QCB+L into fireworks.

-This one’s obvious, but j.HS combos a lot on early hitstun.

-DP+M j.S does too.

From that, I got some combos from slightly-awkward confirms. Once again, if this is obvious, my bad.

  • cr.M st.H stinger DP+M j.S DP+M j.HS DP+M j.H QCF+M j.S into QCF+MM and whatever, that just puts a ton of damage on really really fast. By the crystal it’s already done nearly 1 million.

-(works anywhere) QCB+L Fireworks, st.LS, j.H Killer Bee, dashforward st.S shots into Prop Shredder, QCF+LL x 5, by this point Thor dies. But 5 is tough, I can’t seem to do it all the time. You can always end early and go into QCF+MM into j.S, or j.S into QCF+MM, though.

-(works midscreen) cr.LMH Stinger QCB+L Fireworks, st.LS, j.H Killer Bee, dashback st.S delay HHHH…for ten shots, dfHHH wallbounce bold move hammer, QCF+MM Devil Trigger QCF+MM again into j.S, any otg there will kill Thor, looks cooler and is way faster than finishing with jam session a bunch.

-Superjump throw (anywhere) DP+M j.H QCF+M j.S DP+M j.H QCF+M j.S, QCF+MM DP+MM j.S QCF+MM DP+MM, 1,015,700 without using Devil Trigger after the QCF+MM and doing lightning, Thor kill with. Or Jam Session loops after the final QCF+MM

-Most damage I could find with just devil trigger would be boxjump j.HS DP+M j.S DP+M j.S DP+M j.H QCF+M j.S QCF+MM DP+MM j.S dfHHH fH bold cancel QCF+MM j.S Devil Trigger, j.QCF+Sx3 j.S flight, j.QCF+Sx5 j.L, at 2,320,400

It still quite good to use it for the kill instead of Million Dollars as you will get better incoming after it. You will have to judge wither the DT extension will get the kill or not.
I think Crazy Joe from NYC does those stuff with Viper/Dante (playing in Big Two etc)

I would always focus on speed with XF3 Dante combos so I tend to avoid DP+MM. Use DP+LL instead and follow with dash S to shots if you need to or extend earlier with a dp.MM j. S. Also I find the the 2nd relaunch HS to be a bit inconsistent so I would do: c.L c.M s.H f.H dp.M j.S dp.M j.S dp.M j.H qcf.M j.S qcf.L(full 10 hits)L. Does over 1mil and kills as quickly as Dark Vergil of the same confirm. Can kill anybody with extensions but i think that might be the quickest way to kill the majority of the cast without devil trigger.

I know I’m late on this but Dante has an unblockable set up with Trish?

He can’t create a self unblockable, so just with those two no. You can add Wesker for some nasty setups/unblockables though, a.k.a see Greenace’s team

I was wondering if anyone else has spent any time with this assist.

It seems like it’s pretty versatile for Dante, since it works as a strong extender at almost any point in a combo. As a starter c.LM s.HfHxxBC+RBxxVolcanoxxJC VolcanoxxJC Mil. Carat s.S > shot loops can work (not sure if it’s worth anything but seems promising and was wondering if anyone could help me build on it since I’m only a day 4 Dante player.)

RB also gives Dante a free way to get out of shot loops similar to Rapid Slash. I’m pretty sure it gives you a guaranteed way to get an acid rain on incoming even after super on top of adding really stupid layered meaty incoming setups.

My knowledge of building mixups with Dante is next to nothing, does anyone know if startup/spacing/timing works with RB?

Right! That is a good point. Viper does so much damage that when i dhc usually the character dies long before million dollars is over. So the incoming setup usually sucks. With a DT kill I could setup acid rain or I could probably tag viper back in.

I did it with beam, but I remember I checked and it still works with RB. (timing might be even easier)

will that last bnb work with chris gun fire?
