If we are optimizing stuff already, any ideas how to keep optimizing this old hammer combo (keeping it practical for matches)
Hammer, Million Carats, DT, Million Carats, S xx H, Stinger BC Telepot, Hammer, Volcano~Beehive, Volcano~Beehive, Million Dollar.
This one net solo 850 with two bars (not gaining any obviously), with some simple assists I was able to push it to 890 (Wesker gunshot etc…).
But still, I feel the DT might store more after the wall bounce, especially with hit count so low.

Yeah maybe its a thing from lightning loops or something, but I find I can do the 3x Volcano starter pretty reliably. It probably wont be worth it for the majority of players, but its a nice style option if you can do it =)
Hi, crossing the threshold from casual to competitive. After reading this thread, I have a few dante questions if someone would be kind enough to help.
Is the Air Dash C tech reliable or is the link super tight?
Can someone give me a midscreen rapid slash extension pls? I only see corner ones.
Is there any match footage of dante’s consistently hitting shot loops?
1.No it is not. Unless you practice it a lot you should probably not use it.
2.Sure after a hard knockdown you can do Call vergil, :df::h::h:,:d::d::s:,j:s:.
Or if you’ve used a ground bounce and you want to reset it so you can DHC into swords and do more damage you can do Rapid slash+:df::h::h:,stinger, BC teleport, sky dance, million dollars.
3.Not really. I’m not totally sure. My guess is you could probably find yipes doing it from time to time but other than that I don’t know. It’s still worth learning though.
Have you guys optimized acid rain loops? Im more comfortable with hitting those in matches than shot loops (even though i know them ) But iirc they barely break 700k. Is there anyway with strider assist to make it build more meter / do more damage?
I was thinking
Whatever > volcano > call strider > tk million carats > S > 2x Acid rain > j.s / Hammer > Volcano-Beehive > S > Shots > ender
but that doesnt really seem any different than what we’re doing now.
You can do it from shots loop too (as in video from my channel!!) LMH Stinger Volcano j.H air play j.H land S,H (1 shots), S,H(1), S,H+A1(2 shots), Teleport Hammer Volcano Beehive Million Dollar Sword loops
I think Bee does it some times, it quite viable, the harder part for me is to connect the Stinger in the end, I finish with Reveb Shock like a scrub
Finally found a good extension using Thor’s Mighty Smash and Felicia’s Rolling Bucklers Assists, anyone knows extensions with some other ‘‘uncommon’’ characters?
So here there are; with Mighty Smash: after a Hard Knockdown>Call Thor>Volcano>TK Million Catarats>backdash into S~H(fulll shots)> Reverb Shock~Fireworks>Million Dollars
If the hit stun deterioration is not that high you can do another shoot loop after the Million Catarats, like after doing Hammer>Volcano>j.MH>Killer Bee>backdash S~H~Stinger>Hammer>Extension
You can also do: Call Thor>Volcano>Sky Dance>Beehive>Stinger>BC Volano~Beehive>Million Dollars.
with Felicia’s Rolling Buckler: j.H>s.MH>Stinger+Call Felicia>Volcano>TK Million Catarats>Rest of the combo
Technically it is better to go for a reset (I said about a custom one i use posts ago [after Stinger+Felicia you go for a Hammer, and since the first hit doesn’t combo into the second one after some hit stun deterioration it will make the character recover so it will get hit with an overhead and a los at the same time, and the best part is that because the first half of the assist was not used in the new combo you can use her again for another reset.]) instead of doing the extension, but this is just in case you don’t wanna risk anything and go for a combo instead.
Just thought I’d chip something into the bin for anchor Dante players, XF3 Dante players, and people who enjoy blasting things with Galick Gun.

The idea: Develop a XF3 Dante BNB that will always leave you with an emergency meter at the start of said combo, that can one touch anything off the initial hit and leave you with tons of XF3 time and a good amount of Devil Trigger.
The result? This video. I really wish if I could push it to two meters gained before the transformation, that would guarantee that this mentality (build meter then go nuts in DT) would be the most optimal for anchor/XF3 Dante play. The combos that don’t revolve around DT are just me screwing around trying to find things that can work and playing with them in my head. I like sharing footage.
I didnt mention it in my video, but off a grounded confirm that doesn’t start off a boxdash jM/H you can use 2 volcano into air series jS relaunches into the Million Carats sequence and that will kill everyone meterless(that being said you still will kill most characters without using DT with that basic sequence).
One DT extension I’d like to mention to you guys off my sequence if you think the last killer bee will not kill, simply cancel it into DT, volcano xx killer bee again.
The more I play Dante anchor the more confident I get in the character and the more stupid I realize he is. He has a large learning curve in comparison to Derpsker/Vergil the God/ Strider and the like. But when you get comfortable with him he isn’t that far from their stupid level.
One main issue I currently have with anchor Dante is that I’m struggling to hitconfirm off crossup Acid Rains and cross up stM on incoming. His stMHS series simply is too inconsistent in XF3, and even when I open people up the combo drops because of Dante going blind midway through the combo. Is there any solution to this or a confirm that’s consistent?
By the way, Devil Trigger comboes are obsolete because you require 2 bars to start them and you can instead just build the third bar and lvl 3 for more damage and probably more meter as well.
So I made a video showing off/exploring Dante’s Twister ( :dp: :l:) some. Mainly because I feel like I don’t see it used enough and when projectile floods are such a big deal in the current meta, one has to wonder why not. There’s also a few things put out in the open here you might appreciate beyond Twister’s use in the neutral including its uses as an anti-teleport maneuver, chip setups and resets with Vajra after a Million Dollars in the corner.
Also, please pardon the erratic nature of my play during the playback sequence. I was just trying to show some options without thinking about how I had overexerted myself. (I wish if missiles got blown away too…)
