Ultimate Dante Combo Thread. Jackpot! Yeah baby!

Hi guys, what’s the optimal dante TAC DT combo? The only thing i’ve found so far is:

TAC: j.M j.H Vortex, double jump, j.H Vortex, double jump, j.H xx flight, j.M j.H (shock) ,Dash, j.M j.H (shock), Dash, j.M j.M j.H Vortex j.S

Ay dios mio. The damage. Here’s a tip though. You can actually buffer a dash into the second million carats during the end of the DT animation with 2 :atk:'s and then complete the Million carats motion as normal. It positions you right under them making the launch into killer bee followup a lot easier.

you want to do a combo extension with tasky’s horizontal arrows. A good way is with any hard knock down mid combo jump s or hammer then do jump H mash + tasky h arrow call. You wana do 1 shot less then max and cancel in to hammer it’ll put you back in an otg situation to continue your combo it’ll scale the combo a lot and put you in to a bad hit stun situation so wana put this towards the end of your combo. Note you can do this to get a combo off a normal jump height airthrow.

If I drop the character before the hammer hits, does it mean I did a bit to many H? (aka hammer to late)

going to bed for a bit before work I’ll say this if the character drops before your hammer connects yeah it’s to many hs a visual tip is to start imputing the the quarter circle forward light as soon as the arrows connect. The timings not to bad you just got to get a feel for it very easy to get consistent with it. Also the best way I found to get an H arrow extension in combos.

Well that is also a good option, but sometimes i am not comfortable with the timing, also i am like muscle memorized the timing of Hammer>Million>Catarats>Dt>Million Catarats> Delay s.S, etc; yeah the damage can be ridicoulous high if this combo is optimized, also you can do 710k damage and instead of going for million dollars you could just go for a Devil Trigger, wich will lead into death to ANY character, i don’t know why people don’t do this, i am going to mess with this more, i have reached the 1,000,000 damage, don’t know if i can do more, but i will keep trying, i thing THIS is the reason why dante’s damage got nerfed, well this and the acid rain abusing,

Are we talking of practical 1mil damage of hammer with 2 bars? I would very like to see that

Here is the reason why people don’t go for DT combos, oh cool you just did 1 million damage. But guess what, you start your confirm with 1 bar and you limit yourself from building a bar and end it with million dollars, so you need 2 meters to do the combo itself. If you actually avoided using DT you would build more than 1 bar(remember you started with 2bar in your DT combo) with the combo itself, giving you the option of doing a DHC/2 DHCs/ Level 3 as you see fit and will probably do more damage.

OMG i was searching for something like this with nemesis, also with launcher slam in combos you can do easy gun shoot loops and incorpore Million Catarats, never though of doing this, great stuff.

Haven’t done any testing on early DT extensions with 2 bars vs Building a Lvl3, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s roughly the same. If you have some caca DHC like Strider in the back where it’s not really option or you’re solo I can see some the merits to this. Also it’s mad stylish.

Edit: In regards to the hammer DT Carats combo in the corner the damage and meter difference is pretty neglible. You don’t get shot loops for the DT route and you have to scale your combo with prop shredder/acid rain to build the extra bar normally.

Mid-screen though if you do 4 reps of shot loops with shots you get almost 60k more damage and roughly .5 more of a meter.

It is not like Wolverine doesn’t do the same, or like vergil doesn’t spend like 3 bars for killing one character,second, I almost always ommit the Million Dollars and go for a Devil Trigger Reset, because a lot of people ignore that in devil trigger you can fly>overhead>cancel fly>low, so i just killed any character at the cost of one bar, a lot of characters spend a lot of bars, sometimes even x-factor to kill a character, 2 DHC’s change the team order, the only time it would be better to DHC if i have vergil on 2nd, but i am trying a different team and vergil is on anchor, so DHCing into him is not an option.

EDIT: Also some characters have bad DHC’s, that would be the best reason to do DT combos, or if you have Dante as an anchor.

I got it once but don’t remember the exact notations, i am almost sure i used gun shoot loops but don’t remember the times , also i am not in my house now, but tomorrow i will be there so i will post it here.

I picked up Dante the other day and after getting bold canceling down I started working on clay pidgeon loops. It seems like I always either hit the S after clay pidgeon too early and get prop shredder or too late and it whiffs. Are there any tips or tricks on doing this? I’ve got it a few times but it’s no where near consistent.

try to hit with the tip of the sword, and after the first time hold back so the space remains almost the same.

or you can delay the first shot. works every time.

You could probably actually do even more if you’re close enough to the corner when you do the wallbounce, and do
:qcf::l:~:l:, :dp::m: j.:qcf::l:~:l:
instead of Hammer by itself. In XF3, you might even be able to do multiple acid rains.

Are you looking for non-XF variants? I can tell you that Dante’s absolute highest-damage combos will most likely involve multiple Million Carats as the first hits of the combo. Not sure if multiple Million Carats at the beginning of a combo will negatively impact your ability to do Charged Shot loops afterwards
