Ultimate Dante Combo Thread. Jackpot! Yeah baby!

Yo can anyone remind me on what the exact timing is for comboing after lv.3? I went down syndrome today and can’t land it, I feel wack. What was the exact timing someone told me when he puts away the sword but what do they mean when he starts putting it away? What does he say ?

Dash about the moment Dante sheathes his sword.

Like when he starts or after its fully in there.

Right when he’s finished.

Here’s what stream monstering while in training mode gets you…combos that do too much damage.

This combo is fraudulent though because there’s probably a way to use and reset the ground bounce via Dark Hole, but I’m too lazy. Also the combo is already meter positive and does 1.22 mill =/

Dante with Dorm/Vergil behind him HURTS. Combos with those extensions build around 2+ bars giving you meter positive million damage DHC’s. Kinda gross to be honest.

Here’s what I somewhat use for no meter (I generally improvise though with loops and infinites when I get the chance)

Corner-to-corner:
Standard opener > Volcano > j.S > Volcano > j.H xx Air Play > j.S > Dash > Volcano>Beehive > j.S > Dash > Cold Shower > Stinger xx BC Teleport > Air Dash > j.S > Twister>Tempest

Midscreen or Corner:
Standard opener > Volcano > j.S > Volcano > j.H xx Air Play > j.S > Volcano>Beehive > j.S > Cold Shower > Stinger xx BC Million Carats xN

I know both combos finish in under half XF time which is actually decent without spending meter on DT, both work off throws

If you want the really fast kills though I’d just do DT Flight Thunderbolt stuff which kills everyone in like 20-30% XF time

I actually liked the idea in the video there with the Hammer, Volcano to j.S, I’ve actually implemented it into a combo I’m working on, will upload it soon (with honorable mention to you, of course). I do have 2 question about Acid Rain. First, in order to get more loops from the Cold Shower, Prop Shredder (only looking for 2, actually), does the opponent need to be at a specific height? If so, then what’s the preferred height? Or is it possible for the first Acid Rain to put them at the proper height for the 2nd. And my second question involves the Sky Dance to Acid Rain to Volcano setup. Is that also height specific so the last hit of Sky Dance whiff? And what’s the timing for the Acid Rain to Volcano afterwards? Is it instant?

I’ve been attempting to steal your prop shredder into acid rain into 5b 236b 623b. It does less damage then my current corner bnb and builds no more meter then my current corner BNB does.

But it just looks so damned cool! I feel like I wouldn’t be a dante player NOT to try and get that down 100%

Anybody here do snapback combos on the last character witch spare meter?

I start combos on the last character with snapback->XFC. It’s actually pretty cool because it’s Dante’s fastest move by far. If I had a fast enough assist I’d be doing assist call->snapback instead but whatever. I don’t know if there are any assists fast enough to combo off of it without an XFC midscreen though.

If I have 4 or 5 i snapback frenzy lol if i start a combo midscreen i wait till they get to the corner to start snapbacking. Snapbacks look so cool. I got a midscreen with vergil thats blah blah rapidslash > snapback > grapple > beehive blah blah and a corner to corner with unibeam assist whenever i do use that assist though…

I saw tokidos TAC trap with magneto where if people try and mash out, they get reset into another combo because they’re afraid of the TAC into doom which builds incredible amounts of meter and damage. I’ve started incorporating it into my game and my team is magneto/dante/akuma. I’ve been trying to find a consistent non-DT TAC combo to give people a reason to to try and tech out of the TAC because dante doesn’t do enough damage or build enough meter so everyone I play here is just taking the TAC…

Has anyone explored that at all yet?

EDIT: the best I could manage after some time in the lab is :
j. M H airplay M dj. M M H S and that builds about half a bar. Its enough for me to get to 3 bars off a down TAC and do about 1.1 mil with akuma assist extending the combo! I finally got a reason for people to try and tech out of the TAC :smiley:

Anyone have any extensions to dante’s combos using Doombeam or Coldstar?

I could be waaay late on this, but Dante can link snapback after Million Carats (when they’re at about eye level or below). So this means you can get meter positive snapback combos. Even if you’re going for damage without the use of assists Dante can build back exactly 1 meter because for whatever reason hitting with the snap back gives you meter. Lol, Dante. Lol. this game.

Here’s an XFC snapback combo as well. Dante’s fastest move is snapback so may as well learn how to use it. Especially if it’s 1v1 and they’re expecting you to XFC their blockstring so they can command grab you or whatever. If you use snapback and they somehow reaction XF to block it you can blow your XF to make it safe. You’re back to neutral, but at least you’re not dead. Anywho, here’s the combo just using Lvl1 XF.

Snapback, XFC, Dash, st.S j.MH xx KillerBee, st.S ~ H xx TK Acid Rain x n, j.M Hammer, Coldshower Stinger Lvl2->
-Midscreen- BC Teleport, Hammer, Volcano xx Beehive
-Corner Skydance Reset, Beehive, Stinger BC Volcano xx Beehive

Or the Acid Rain Volcano extension if you get the hard knockdown. It’s a basic combo, but it’s something to put in your arsenal. Does around 950k.
