Ultimate Dante Combo Thread. Jackpot! Yeah baby!

I used to do falling j.H, M, H, S, then either
Clay Pigeon, Stinger, teleport, blablabla, or
Clay Pigeon, Prop Shredder, blablabla

I don’t think it really matters damage-wise which one you do, since PUHLASSMA BEAM is already going to scale your combo to poopy. I don’t think you can get many shot loops anyway, because Plasma Beam gives you a lot of hitstun scaling right off the bat. If you’re not set on Doom, and want beam+teleport silliness, Magneto/Disruptah is a much better choice. He’s a better anchor than Doom, too.

The trick to the two shot shot loop is to delay the first up shot after st.S as much as you possibly can. After that let them fall a bit so Prop Shredder doesn’t come out, st.S, delay up shot, repeat. That’s pretty much it.

I’ve been looking for a second 'team so to speak and I’m thinking of Dante/Phx/Morrigan. My execution in general is 'meh’tastic, so I’m looking for just really ‘two’ comboes that I can practice till I get them perfect…and then I’ll go from there

I’m looking for the most meter gained in a combo - preferably with no assist (don’t like depending on them as I change my teams up frequently)…and I’m looking for the most damaging no meter combo. The why is obivous - if I’m using Phx I need ‘dat’ meter, but I figure Dante’s flexabile enough to keep me good in most situations, and doesn’t ‘need’ supers. Any help/direction would be awesome.

I just wanted to bold that for emphasis. I had alot of trouble and am still trying to increase my perfection wth BCing - but its not something you have to rush thru despite being quick inputs. Accuracy is more important. The combo I’ve been doing for training purposes has been:
L, M, H, (-> + H), (H + S), DP motion, M, j.H, air fb, j.H, S…
after the stinger I just hold forward an roll for hte rest of the DP motion to get the volcano out. But it got infintely easier once I just slowed down my execution of it. Still not perfect - most of my PT is on the Vita version (hence BC with H all the time for me). I just honestly don’t know what to do after the S…I have various things I do, but I know I’m not maximizing meter/damage.

i had a quick question…is it optimal to do 2 shot gunloops or the max? i know u can get more reps of 2 shot loops but which does more damage?

I’d say the 2 shot loop because the real damage is coming from the S launcher rather than the shots themselves. That’s why you’d want to do more loops in the first place.

I’m looking of an easy way to Combo into Hammer. i tried doing the moves after Prop Shredder but it never combos, I’m only paying to game for about a week so can’t really pull stuff like Bold Cancelling or anything like that

Aight, I just recently got the hang of bold canceling(still ironing it out, but I hit it about 70 percent of the time now), whats a basic combo to go for with dante? At the moment I do :l: :m: :h: :f: :h: BC volcano j.:m::h::qcf::l: land :s: :m: :h: sky dance, :dp: :m: :m: million dollars, does about 600k+ but doesn’t work outside of the corner(in my experience at least). Im sure some dante players just threw up a little at my unoptimal combo but it was the best I could come up with while practicing. I try to do the air play combos but for some reason I just can’t hit the st.:s: after you come down from the air play series.

So could someone point me in the direction of a nice basic combo to learn for someone just picking up dante.

I’m telling you, you really should check the front page. Very good combos.
Also for air play combos delays the second air h til you’re near the ground then h,s. Easy once you get the hang of it.

okay guys, so i was in the lab with dante/strider again to try to find stuff and came up with something. the basic idea of tigerknee’ing volcano’s into each other (like viper rapid seismo) with the help of vajra isn’t new, and we already knew that it adds massive damage especially to combos off of a j.s/hammer. so i tried to find a way to integrate that into a regular dante bnb from a light hitconfirm as early as possible to benefit from low damage scaling. wo what i came up with is basically this:

l, m, h+vajra, stinger bc volcano (strider hits) xx tk’d volcano, and keep your combo going as usual from there.

this adds about 60k damage to every dante combo. if you have another assist to extend and do something more advanced like an optimal groundbounce-reset combo, you can easily break 800k ending with just million dollars off of a c.l, which i think is pretty good. it also seems to ignore hsd completely, cause i was able to easily get every possible followup i could think of, including charge shot loops and stuff.

i have no clue if that was already known or maybe even posted since i didn’t lurk the dante boards much in the last months, but i thought i’d just share it. ^^

So what assist helps dante the most damage wise?
I know nova and dp allow extra ground bounces and spencer allows an extra :s: but who provides the most damage?

Imo the best team for Dante is Sentinel for both damage and mixups and Zero or Vergil for huge damage dhc. Zero’s means you have to learn to LL, Vergils means you need to learn sword loops but you get to use easy dante combos because it’s better to not ground or wall bounce. Just go into gun loops but only do 1 rep (or more for meter) and reverb shock to guns dhc. Vergil is probably better as a neutral game assist but Zero is better on point. I play Zero/Dante/Sent with Vergil replacing sent against phoenix teams.

Anybody know how I can optimize my DT swag combo off a TAC?

TAC up or down > j.H xx Air Play > j.H xx Thunderbolt > j.H xx Fly > (j.M > j.H xx Air Play) x2 > j.M > j.H xx Thunderbolt > j.H > j.S > etc.

Ok so,
when I’m doing midscreen :l::m::h::f::h: bc :dp::m: j:m::h::qcf::l: :s::h::f::h: :d::atk::s::d::s: I usually follow with hammer but my problem is that I never know what side I tele to and when I find out its too late. Anyway to like guarantee which side you’ll land on because I prefer not to use j:s:
