After getting a session I’m further convinced that Strider and Firebrand are BS.
More than just Strider’s mix up/zoning he has the ability to have constant walls of pressure that build plenty of meter while piling on chip as well. I’m really liking both of these characters but would be surprised to see anyone using them to even a fraction of their potential yet. They’re both going to end up very strong to say the least.
Not surprising. Nova didn’t have a level 3 but as soon as he got out there November 15th, he really started to cramp on Magneto’s style especially with that meterless damage and interesting technologies that most other characters dont have access to.
Zissou, the primary things I found about Strider were his safe constant pressure options, formation B cancelling is like Zero buster release where you get the chance to turn anything you’re doing into free frame advantage no matter what. That paired with his dash and normals is intense, I have sub par assists for lock down and even with that just being able to go in forever feels like a possibility. Firebrand has some impossibly strong mix up and has that rare trait of controlling space well from the air, he’s an excellent character and I feel neither of them will have any damage problems in too long, they have too many overwhelming tools to not be among the better characters.
Im still trying to get enough time to know what im talking about with this :(. Can someone give me some links to Good new character combos and guides, maybe some week 1-2 thoughts from the community?
Strider is Zero you can’t runaway from. I don’t really need much explanation for him. You can just sit down with him for an hour and see that when people grind him out he’ll barely ever get hit by anything ever and basically be able to tear whole teams down until he gets hit. Basically the more people use him the more retarded he’ll get and he won’t ever get less retarded.
Formation B gives him assistless, safe left/rights with the wall cling into combos also. He basically has the best set of teleports in the game with the ability to instantly hop out of them and create stupid double overhead fake overhead crosses. Basically it’s like if Magneto could up down on top of you after teleporting next to you. Cover that shit with an assist and you get free safe mix ups.
