No. His j.h reaches pretty much sj height, plus he can empty cancel all of his chain moves. Jumping back zoning (Wesker, Taskmaster) loses to Heartless Spire. He pretty much can cover every area, and then add on Hidden Missiles and Tasky arrows…and it gets real hard to get in.
s.S = dont even try a dive kick/air dash from the mid range.
He also has two up-forward diagonal chains, if he throws out a H he can cancel into them… and yeah S blows up square dashes and dive kicks pretty free
Also, people have recently discovered that mashing b+MH allows him to what appears to be kara cancelling his heartless spire into another dash, which lets him retreat fairly quickly after a heartless spire.
And now I’m happy. Seems that one of my favorite characters will be good after all.
Another cool thing bout Ghost Riders is his SOV runs, trucks, plows over so many hypers its hilarious.
I love DHC waring with other teams, end results are someone ends up with bike tracks on their azz.
I remember trying to use Weapon X Prime to bust through his demon cycle super and both 23 and Rider just kinda whiffed in front of each other.
The off screen teleport the player could have slightly delayed it to make it an even tighter left or right, but that was just a lab video to give Ds players ideas, Just cuz its basic doesn’t make its useless, that would be hard to block if the teleport was delayed a bit. Which if landed would mean the end of your character.
Thats good to know.
Not saying it’s useless, or even bad, I’m just saying it’s not special. Lots of characters can do it, and many more can do it with an assist, so it’s not a compelling reason to pick Strange with all his drawbacks.
Impossible. Everyone know’s Scrubs only use Characters that are so braindead.
What drawbacks?
and I’m not saying his GoH left or right should sell you on why you should use DS it was just to show that Goh isn’t azz.
I must say, unless something extremely gamebreaking comes up later on, this game is one of the best if not the BEST balanced Capcom fighting game.
I mean, besides the obvious Wesker, Dr. Doom and Dormammu in Top Tier and Hsien-Ko and Wright in Low Tier, is gonna take a while to find out the rest of the placements.
Soooooooooooo many good characters in this, it truly feels like pick your 3 characters and prove you are the better player without a crutch character like a T4 Jin.
Great job by Capcom overall!!!
Slow projectiles, ass normals, sub-par mobility, weak solo mixup.
Like I said, he has enough tools that he could easily rise above this in time, look at Vanilla Viper, but right now I don’t see it.
Remember it’s like, week one, so… yeah.
He has really good normals they’re just somewhat unsafe. He doesn’t really need his normals to amount an offense. He’s basically like Viper or Dr.Doom in that he’s reliant on his special moves to make up for his lack of being able to auto pilot with normals like Wesker or Wolverine and get damage. M mystic sword and L dagger have the utility of normals as far as poking and spacing but just happen to be projectiles.
Nobody has done anything with him in general so it’s easy to say you don’t see anything. I’ve read up way too much on him and know with what other characters were capable of doing with left/right mix ups in Vanilla…with work he’s only going to be a big problem later on. Especially if he is capable of full screen mix ups while being able to easily shut down attempts for his opponents to fight him back in a fireball war with meters.
Usually characters like Dr.Strange are forced with “limitations” simply because those limitations are what keep them from being an omnipotent control every aspect of the game type character. Dr.Strange’s “weaknesses” aren’t so much to keep him from being viable as they are to have you focus on what he shines at and keep him from putting most of the rest of the cast out of use. Dr.Strange is easily one of those characters they could have given too much shit and then we would have another Vanilla Dante or Phoenix on our hands.
His movement speed and normals are exactly the same as MvC3 with glasses on. the only changes were to Samurai Edge, Cobra Strike, and Jaguar Dash.
Like I said, I’m very open to the idea that Strange is GDLK, but I haven’t seen it yet. The scariest thing I’ve seen so far is the Spell of Vishanti XFC punishes.
That means you could honestly play Strange for a day and see more stuff than Spell of Vishanti XFC punishes. You don’t have to sit and wait on a computer monitor to see more potential out of him than that.
The thing that will make Strange strong in the long run will be when people learn how to use the graces and his counters. Both Illusion and counter beam will be important to his gameplan.
Use a non light or projectile? Teleport. Throw out a random projectile beam, punish.
But it will take time.
Ghost Rider will be an unique char in the fact he will be able to squash a huge portion of rushdown attempts in the long run with HS, and his different types of chains but against good keepaway, will have trouble.
Yeah, but I also can’t play 12 new characters all at the same time.
Chill out.
LOL. Unless you’re playing 10 of the 12 new characters I don’t see how that’s such a big deal.
How many of the new characters are you messing with any way?
It’s hard to play Strange for an hour and come away with “he has akuma supers yo”. That’s pretty much all that most of this thread seems to know about Strange.
