this character is gay as fuck. like i said before, my offline sparring partner runs this little critter and trust me when i say blocking him is hard as fuck due to size ( this is an issue when a bunch of assists are on the screen ) and he have self-made instant overheads making his mix ups something scary. and it’s hard to gain space with that gay ass burrow.
Firebrand’s damage isn’t so bad… it’s like 500-600k but unlike strider, it’s very consistent and easy to convert and his super is easier to get max damage from. I really like firebrand, he did really well for me in practice vs people. His XF1 infinite is pretty cheesy too, I got a theory that you can do it off his ground drag move kinda like how wolverine would do dive kick and then x factor and kill whoever, need to test it when I get the chance.
Only thing I disagree on firebrand’s design is his level 3. It doesn’t really feel good enough to warrant 3 bars. Kitty helper is 1, so why is demon helper 3?

Well he can still call an assist and teleport and stay in that ass, ON TOP of resetting you. While someone like strider, has to shake dem cheeks, work a corner, turn a trick,etc. for 600k without 3 bars. Not to add the fact that Wesker could take punishment as well.
Had to quit playing online, because EVERY SINGLE match it was a/b/Wesker or Wesker/a/b. Mostly every other match it was Wesker/Dante/Vergil.
He’s SO dirty lol. I’m considering dropping both my teams just to work on him, the problem is I don’t know who else to play with him.

It’s hard to convert random air hits to max damage a lot of the time and landing legion is kind of difficult since it doesn’t always do the max damage that it can do for no apparent reason, and you have to hit your j.S really late in the air series and then Legion almost exactly when you hit the ground to connect it. If every opening was a ground hit with a formation B behind you, he could probably break 500-600k every hit but in practice he usually does closer to 400 or less it seems, atleast in these early days.
Firebrand, atleast if he smacks you with a random j.C or something he can just do Bon Voyage or Dive kick and then do his standard combo.

Alright, this mentality is starting to tick me off.
Players, I ask this of you. Please don’t purely follow your knee-jerk reactions or emotions.
You see something powerful, and believe it to be bullshit. That’s perfectly fine. Everyone has pet peeves in this game. Wesker is highly understandable.
But there are so many requesting for nerfs, crying about OP, pleading for buffs. What ever happened to learning the game? What ever happened about bettering oneself as player?
In Vanilla, Sentinel was a powerful character in the early life of the game. High life, easy execution, high damage, good assist, great normals. The character was pretty much an express win. But that was when people will still learning the new game. Remember, this was before people recognized Wolverine, Wesker, and Phoenix as top tier threats.
Now interestingly enough, at a Norcal Major (Dromstruction), I was playing casuals with Kbeast. The PS3 we were using did not have sentinel’s life patched, so he was at 1,300,000. Guess what? That hardly mattered.
The match-up was known, the game was familiar, and guess what? Sentinel felt… balanced!
But hey, now look at the character, the Sentinel boards have like one or two threads updated since UMvC3 was released. Poor robot. Where are the people who bitched about him? They are jumping on Wesker now.
Learn the game, practice your match-ups, find counter measures to Wesker. Did you guys read the UMvC3 guide?

Anywhoo’s, It pusses me off that someone like Wesker, or even Doom received somewhat good changes while someone like Tron (who was awful on point) got nerfed to hell.

Lots of characters can set up stuff like that solo though. It’s good sure, but why would I pick strange over strider, Dorm, Nova, Phoenix, etc… when they seem to be better characters.
Right now I’m thinking Strange for “outclassed” tier. But he’s got enough tools that after the strange people unlock more, that could change.
Off the screen crumble beam teleport mix up after a combo that build nice meter and did nice damage?

It’s still a basic left/right. The fact that the beam is offscreen is kinda irrelevant because you have plenty of time to react to the firing animation.
What makes a mixup better or worse isn’t how it works, but ho difficult it is to block it corectly. Everything I’ve seen from strange isn’t any better than what most characters can already do.

And yeah even though it doesn’t bother as much as I like let on, if character’s like Tron, Sent and She-Hulk weren’t nerfed to crap and character’s like Hsien-ko were buffed to a point where it’d mean something, I probably wouldn’t even be acknowledging that character right now, it’d just be cool if he were a little less mindless/autopilot

I am not sure if these two are “best friends,” but there is a lot of synergy between them. As I discussed in the Nova forums, a lot of this can be done by Nova alone saving a meter, and considering how high Nova’s damage output is, he may not need this. Though, if you choose to use the two characters together, this is an option you have, and this set up can be very confusing due to is ambiguity and visual confusion.
