ULTIMATE Balance/Tier talk thread

I definately overrated Dr. Strange. I thought he was going to be stupid tier. He is pretty good but he has some major flaws that hurt him badly.

I’ll still take my slightly less buff Task over Hawk anyday. Arrows are still good and with his new swing cancel his left/right mixup is gdlk. Now to make that Shady K chopstick combo work on the rest of the cast and it’s S tier FO SHO!

Combofiend obviously sold his soul to El Diablo for this “re-balance”

Haggar Lariat assist actually does have two frames of startup vulnerability, but keep in mind the fastest normals in this game are 4 frames, so this means unless you are actively attacking the dude and he called Haggar while getting hit you won’t beat him unless you wait it out first.

Yea I think Dr.Strange is going to take quite a while to actually crack. The lack of any airdash hurts him badly…

I don’t think any of Tasky’s less buff-ness (which is insignificant anyway) has any bearing over his swing cancels. Looks like good stuff.

Good to hear Bolts of Balthak works well for Nemesis, too. Strange’s learning curve plus my falling-behindness is kinda steering me away from him, but who know, I may pat myself on the back for sticking with him. He looks like he has some bad weaknesses but great strengths that could compliment my team, which makes my team feel shaky in theory. Still want to explore Spencer and Task, though.

Level 3 XFC Firebrand with level 3 hyper + Luminous body is insanely silly

You dont even need a coherent plan… just mash buttons like crazy and you will kill 2 characters. You can’t block it and even if you do its some nasty chip.

Firebrand in any XFC is plain silly TBH

A characters ability to do damage holds very much weight when tiering them as well as their mix-up and reset potential

Not factoring how much damage a character can do is like turning a blind eye to what could either be a major flaw or asset… It isn’t everything but it should definitely be mentioned.

edit: off to go learn Firebrand

Problem with this is Firebrand just doesn’t have good enough assists to justify putting him in the back like Strider does.

Thats the thing though Firebrand has crazy mixups/resets. Thus this is why Capcom gave him shit damage. Even if he did solid damage he would be an easy S Tier character.

If Firebrand had crazy damage output…or breaks out of Capcom’s original design like vanilla zero…he will become a instant threat.

I mean the ability to use your power up super in the air, and YOU build meter…Pants would have been Shats.

Finally got Firebrand’s flying down.
Maybe new main :open_mouth:

I changed my mind quite a bit after hitting the lab. Rocket Raccoon actually does decent damage, and Strange OHKing people by XFCing Spell of Vishanti > full kill combo is ridiculous. I think I may rearrange my team though. Thinking Strange/Raccoon/Strider may be better than Strider/Raccoon/Strange.

Still godlike from Marvel 3: Zero/Dante/Trish/Viper/Doom/Dorm/Lariat

New cheap shit: Vergil/Strange

Game is pretty much the same, people finding out cheap meter neutral/positive TODs, and ways to open people up to use them. Only difference is stuff that kills is actually hard now, so people will have to grind shit out in T.mode

I don’t think he’s cheap. Sure he can punish better than the rest of the case but does that make him broken honestly? Maybe I am not having enough foresight.

That can’t be possible because if he was 2 frames vulnerable you’d be able to do meaty setups on Haggar assist with any normal.

Like Wesker’s super got nerfed so the invincibility frames dont start up on frame 1 before the freeze anymore. Which means you can meaty him out of the counter super on wake up situations before the counter activates by just mashing on c.L as he wakes up from a roll. The invincibility according to the strategy guide (if i read it correctly) has been nerfed so ONLY THE 5th frame of the super is invincible (the last frame before the game freezes).

With Haggar assist I can call double lariat and if ryu shoots his beam (active on very first frame after freeze) next to Haggar assist right before the assist comes to attack, Ryu still gets hit. That for sure means that the assist is still frame one invincible.

You don’t have to be broken to be cheap. Cheap is just a term thrown around at this point for being able to control a lot of the game with basic stuff.

use gold armored arthur and start shooting crossbow bolts?

it worked in super ghouls and ghost.

Well I disagree with that definition when referred to Strange. Just saying.

Yeah pretty much but he’s going to be really powerful once people figure him out I think. He’s basically one of the only characters that can mix up super jumping or flight using opponents so once he gets enough shit on screen you basically have to get hit.

 This character is absolutely retarded, I love it.

 WTF
