Ultimate Arm, Bionic Arm. UMvC3 Spencer Combo Thread

I updated the OP to note that you have to set up UVGs since I was way too tired of people asking “:l: :m: :h: :s: jcc :qcf::h: does not hit, what do i do”

That bothered me.

That’s all well and good, however that in no way changes my response or the solution. You simply provided the “reason” ziplines add more hitstun, something I never attempted to explain.

I find that I can hit the MHS more reliably after bomber when doing sj.MMHS than when I try just sj.HS. The trick I use is to delay the hits a little bit so that you do the bomber when your feet hit the health bars.

Took the liberty of figuring out the triple loop combo done by the Japanese spencer/task team and modified it
cr.:l:, cr.:m:, cr.:h: xx :uf:+:s:+:atk:, j.:m:, land, j.:m:, j.:h:,(slight pause) j.:s:xx:df:+:s:+:atk:, j.:m:, j.:h:, (slight pause)j.:s:xx:df:+:s:+:atk:, j. :m:, j. :h:xx:df:+:s:+:atk:,:df:+:s:+:atk:,cr. :h: xx :qcf:+ :h:~:l:

This is now my go to combo anywhere. Its corner to corner, and the combo does not mess up if you hit the corner early. Matter of fact you can start the combo in the corner and it still works. When you are done with the combo the guy will land at the corner of the stage if you start from your own corner. Follow up with TK :m: grapple for a second :h: grapple. Haven’t tested it with assists in the beginning, but pretty sure it works with hawkeye and taskmaster arrows just fine.

My point is that they don’t “add” histun any more than anything else. It’s a poor way to express what’s actually going on.

The point I was making was that if you did the same MMHS by adding a zip before the S, the combo doesn’t work because of the deterioration it adds. Any technicalities are nitpicking rather than focusing on the bigger picture.

My God are some people ever attached to their own ignorance.

The same can be said about one’s arrogance.

Question, I see a lot of people doing raw bionic bomber outside of combos as a dive kick of sorts. How safe is that exactly? Can you be hit/thrown going down? I know it has tons of recovery but is it safe on block?

Hopefully Someone finds something useful in this.

It’s +3 on block, and while you can be thrown out of it the hitbox is pretty generous. The two biggest problems are 1 If they’re in the air when you do it they’ll recover faster which can make it unsafe depending on their height and 2 while the hitbox is large, if you whiff it can be punished pretty easily. It’s a good trick to use occasionally, but not in excess. Can also use it for a tagged in character for a free left-right mixup (and even if it’s blocked people usually press buttons and get punished since you’re at advantage). That gimmick loses its potency if people know to look for it though.

FOR THE LOVE OF ME, cud someone plz, pretty plz tell me what am doing wrong here??? At 10:45 in the vid, after he carried the guy to d corner with combo n then grapple him to d floor, dashed back n did tk grapple otg… HOW THE HELL H getting to hit him into zip fwd, zip dwnfwd??? Am trying this, EVEN with less hits n still not getting it!!! Is it a very strict timing, or is it an height specific grapple/opp in air thing??? I need to knw someone plz, its been puzzling my brain for TTOOOOO long now  :frowning:

Well is the zip whiffing or are they popping out after the S? If the former (most likely scenario), it’s because of the timing.

They are popping out of it when i hit the H into zip… honestly, i tried ALL versions of timing, n nadda bro. lol. its really annoying now :frowning:
I got it 2 out of 10 times, but i dont think its timing much, i mostly get it when i let wait 4d body to stop bounce n their laying flat out then full dash back n do tk grapple n even then, at times i still dont get it. N i watch these vids n these guyz getting it all times, everytime… lol

If you’re using H instead of S that may be the problem because H knocks them up and S knocks them lower putting their hurtbox in position for both zips to connect.

I thought to myself the same thing too… lol. N started using the S, got it like twice n after that, it was profound sadness… lol.
Stop getting it all together… I really think its a (wait till they lay flat out on ground kindof thing) i dont own a system, i sweat with my friends when ever they sweating.
So i’ll just do wat i normally do when i cant get something down… (Just practice till i do)

Use :s: instead of :h:, make sure your TK grapple is a super jump.

There’s a lot of stuff in there that I’ve been messing with in training mode and meaning to record, silly stuff like that Spencer UF zip DF zip loop.
At least your video will be viewed a lot and has nice quality, good stuff.
Have you done the zip relaunch in the corner? That can be fun to play with. No X-Factor needed do this in the corner: :s:, sj.:m:, :d:+:s:+:atk:, land, j.:l:, :d:+:s:+:atk:, from there you can do jump loops, relaunch, whatever.

 Very cool stuff. I ran this team near the end of Vanilla and it was pretty powerful.

I kinda wish I didn’t drop Iron Man because I think he is, hands-down, the best horizontal assist available for Spencer, but I find that if Spencer bites the dirt too early, my style of play with Iron Man didn’t bring out the best of the character well enough to have him be a functional member. I might try to keep that team on reserve, though, just because it’s so easy and the damage output is through the proverbial roof.

I haven’t tried Iron Man’s TACs in Ultimate. Has he gotten any new tricksies? I would imagine with airdash cancels, he could extend quite a bit more, but I wonder if there’s anything new with like aerial Unibeam or something.

Hmmm, might have to see what’s good with Tony when I get home today.

I’m liking this new corner to corner combo. Can we get a video of it in here so I can hopefully do it more consistently?

Fun little combo you can do with Spencer:

S, [sj.H, zip df, falling j.H] x 2, sj. H, zip df, falling j.S —> OTG grapple, bomber or whatever.

Not the best for damage output but it looks funny when you do it to someone for the first time haha.
