Yup, already thought about that. I dunno if they’ll let me though. I have connections with a guy at GameCrazy though, so I’ll get flyers in there for sure. EBgames will probably let me though.
Well, aparently there’s this thing called “gambling”, which is not allowed on university grounds. Anyway, I’m looking into getting a room at the McKinley Foundation, which shouldn’t be a problem.

i talked to my friend who works at EB. he said they’ve been really busy with san adreas coming out and will be with halo2 out soon and they’ll also prolly end up running a halo2 tourney before 3s. he said if you wanted to post flyers, that would be ok too. just gotta ask
are you sure you’re not allowed to run tournaments? i know there was a smash tourney with cash prizes before…
Well, I’m not positive. I’m going to go ask my RD to make sure. What I do know is this (and please let me have your opinions on this): I can get money from my dorm fund to give as prizes. This means that there will be no entry fee (unless, of course, people want to order pizza or something). However, the winnings are probably going to be less, probably $30 for first and $10 for second for each tournament.
What do you think?

I’m looking into it right now. I asked about EB giftcards and such, but my RA wasn’t too optimistic about getting those. Still, I’ll have something by the 13th, don’t you worry.

First off, I definently can’t do a cash tourney. Sorry.
Second, I can only get stuff from certain places, i.e. Target, Toys R Us, Borders, etc (though those were the interesting places). So either 1) I can get gift certificates to said establishments or 2) I could get a couple copies of a game, perhaps Guilty Gear: Isuka or SF: Aniversary Edition or something (not Halo 2 though; that’s going to be impossible to find without a pre-order). Anyway, please post suggestions.
EDIT: Actually, I guess I could still get Best Buy gift certificates… but if you’d rather have games, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE say so (it would make things easier).

If anyone is going to bring a DC or whatever to the tourney, you should probably try to bring a TV as well. The more setups, the merrier.
do you have a general idea how many people are showing up? i don’t care about the money (obviously it won’t increase with more people) it’s just more fun to play with a bunch of people :pleased:

I really have no idea. I’ve heard things about people practicing for a “big tournament” though, so I can only assume it’ll be mine. Even if only a few people show up (which I doubt), its still better than nobody.
Also, the CRFB (Central Residential Funding Board) saw it fit to give me only $20 funding, in addition to the $20 bucks I have from my hall funds, so basically I’m footing $60 bucks for prizes. So people better bring their asses to the tourney, or I’ll be pissed.
can I come get my dreambucket sometime? I’m dying to try sum stuff!
