Ok, I already told Marc, but I’ll post this anyways.

I should be heading down there this weekend to visit some friends. Of course, these “friends” also pertains to you guys :tup:. So, I was hopin’ we can get some games in. Preferrably MvC2 or 3S (PS2 ver. if you guys have it. If not, I’ll bring it), but I’m down to play whatever…I guess. Also, please, take it easy on me, I’m not that good…

Anyways, I think I’m supposed to be there on Fri. night 'til Saturday or Saturday morning to Sun. I know the plan is to stay there a night.

Andrew is a 3S beast, and all of you guys have pretty mean rushes in MvC2. Marc is still too good, as expected.

Hopefully we can play in the event of when I visit UoI again.

I’ve got a question.

I know theres a bus from UIUC that takes you to Chicago. What I want to know is this: how hard is it to get from one of those busses to Nickel City? Anyone have experience with this?

Would anyone be interested in a GGXX #R / 3S tournament on the weekend of Nov. 12 - 14 (weekend before Thanksgiving break)? I’m going to be holding one most likely in the FAR lounge, so if you’d like to participate, it’ll most likely be a $5 entry fee for each game (of course, all proceeds go to the winners). Also, I have 3 sticks that I’ll be bringing for general use.

Well, it’ll have to be on PS2, mainly because I left my DC at home and I don’t have a DC adapter for my Hori Real Arcade.

Plus, I’ve heard that the DC version has input delay… though I’m not really sure about that.

Yeah, I wanted to do that EB tournament and I asked about it on at least 5 different occasions. Lazy EB bastards.

what’s the format of the tourney? double elim 2/3 matches?

Almost positively it will be double elimination, best 2 out of 3. That is, unless we get a TON of people, in which case I’ll have to shorten it to single elimination.

If, for some reason, nobody wants to do a tournament (nobody meaning nobody on the whole damned campus), we can still just do casuals.

Cool, thanks man. If anything, one of you guys can come and take my/our money, no? I’ve only been playing 3S for about 2 or 3 months anyway, so my money is gone. :tup:

Also, I have confirmation that I have the FAR Trelease lounge reserved from 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM (!!). I really didn’t think I was going to get it for 10 straight hours, but hey, I’m just lucky I guess.

At any rate, I’ll be putting up flyers now that I have the time and place secured.

Anyway, here’s the official announcement.

3S / GGXX #R Tournament!!
When: Saturday, November 13th. 12 AM - 10 PM
Where: Trelease Lounge in FAR (Florida Avenue Residence Hall)
If you need to Mapblast,
1005 College Ct.
Urbana, IL 61801

$5 per tournament game (i.e. $5 for just 3S or #R, but $10 for both).

Make sure to bring a pad/stick, but if you really want to you can use one of mine (except the Hori Real Arcade, thats mine!)

There will also be casuals after/during the tournies. You can do whatever game you like (if its MVC2/CVS2, someone needs to bring a DC though…). I’ll have VF4: Evo and SF: Aniversary Edition on hand, but if you want to bring any other games, more power to you.

I wouldn’t mind bring my DC for a while… how many tv’s will you have? also, will the tournaments run simultaneously or one after the other? 12-10 is pretty long… we gotta eat sometime =p

I’ll most likely have 4 TVs, though if someone wants to bring more, they’re more than welcome.

The tournaments will occur simultaneously, barring any problems.
