i am saying we do 3rd strike and another game. we could change things up and do the tournament in a different format.
i was also wondering if its possible for us to get more space? say sponsors? subway next door, or some other place? we can even open up the doors and put a setup outside depending on the equipment constraints maybe?

we should also start a marketing campaign, at least some sort of marketing campaign. anyone wanna do a flyer? i ll try to do one if nobody volunteers.

Okay, reasonably, we have Saturday the 21st and Saturday the 28th to hold this tournament. The next Saturday on May 5 is out, because of finals. I think either dates would work, since some may have midterms between those two weeks, anyway. I would lean towards the 21st. If we have a flyer ready and EB Games booked by this Friday, that gives us two full weeks of advertising.
How did you guys book EB Games last semester? Just ask them if we could do a tournament? I can go over there tomorrow to talk to them, if that’s how you did it.
If somebody makes flyers, I’ll print them out, and do the footwork to post them in and around campus, including the dorms. Jerry, if you make a flyer by Thursday, that will be awesome, but if you can’t I’ll try my hand at it then. I’m too busy today and tomorrow to learn Photoshop.
Another thing about this tournament, I feel we should try an idea AlexStrife did in NY and make the entry fees cheap. I think $3-5 is good.
As for games, personally, I would lean towards 3s and T5, especially if we post flyers everywhere.

I agree with the 3S and T5…a bit over-done, perhaps, but universal, nonetheless. I can definitely talk to the guys in EB, and see if it’s going to be a problem.
There is an ohio tourny on the 21st i may go to. So I vote the 28th.

alright first of all, FUCK you all for not voting for guilty gear first among the game to be played at the tourney… I keep on reading the forum about the ebgames tourney and the only thing I keep on seeing is the T5, 3s, scv etc… and then guilty gear on the second hand.

I know that you guys want to attract people to the tourney but fuck people, also I think that if we advertise the tourney (with only guilty gear and 3s) very well we can still get enough people to have a big enough of a tourney.
and on the worst case scenario, we can still invite people from Chicago, I am sure they will come down to play some for a tourney. ( just the same way we were about to go there for their Monthly)

you do realize that the only other people at uiuc that play gg exclusively are steve… and joe (D: !!!). so the choice is yours: you can either be a man or a joe lee.

We are probably going to leave chambana at around 4pm i hope or something like that. Then go right to Scotts, leave early in the morning and drive to Columbia, go to tourny, then afterwords either drive back to scotts or get a room.
