First post for me in the new thread…so I’ll begin it with a bang! UFGT was a great tourney, and it’s only gonna get better with the release of AE, and EVO 2011. So, I’ve got just one question for you all…HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?!!
After missing the UFGT tourney, I was seriously pissed to say the least. It was great to see all the awesome players in the Midwest represent, but the fact of the matter is, I wasn’t there. I wanted to be there, but there was way too many things in my personal life that was keeping me from being there…at least, that’s how I looked at it at first. Then I got to thinking, was it that there was many things blocking in my life, or was it really that I didn’t make a good enough effort to make it?
I’m not going to hold it back anymore. It’s time I’ve revealed what’s really been going on. Truth is, I’ve been homeless for the past nearly two months or so, and there was only a few people in our thread circle that knew about it. I’ve made a lot of bad decisions that got me in that situation in the first place. The good news is that my mother allowed me to come stay with her for the time being to allow me to get myself back together. I’m currently residing in Jacksonville, Illinois. I was pissed, not ultimately because I wasn’t at the tourney and I was watching instead of competing, but because my passion burned inside of me to be better at not only at fighting games, but at life as well. I watched guys like Brock, Big Marcus, James, Mike, and others like Justin Wong, Floe, PR Rog, etc. compete strongly on stream, and the passion that burned inside me then made me realize something…
I didn’t want it bad enough. What I mean is that besides gaming, I didn’t focus my attention enough in my own personal life to make a better effort to live a better life, and because of that, I ended up homeless, simply watching the UFGT tourney on my laptop on McDonald’s WIFI most of that weekend. I watched so many people compete fiercely and represent in the tourney, and that further burned my passion inside me to be like those guys(and gals if, any, like Guilty), to be the person not watching, but competing like Titans.
Believe it or not, watching the UFGT tourney help me realize many important things about myself, and I can honestly tell you all, I’m a stronger person, a changed person. I’ve put all the doubts, excuses, and failures behind me to shape my life to level up to places I didn’t picture myself being at. And I’ll also tell you all this now to those who have played me before, expect to see a much stronger opponent than you did before, expect to see me at EVO 2011, and I want to expect the same for you all. If anyone out there is doubting themselves, stop doing so right now. Like I have, put the doubts, excuses, and any failures behind you, let that passion burn in your soul, and start believing in the power you have to be among the best. Want it, want it baldy, and act on that passion to get there. With all this being said, I want ALL, and I mean ALL who’s reading this to answer this one question I asked earlier…

Most definitely sticking with Guile as my main, but I’m definitely also picking up Yun and Yang as secondaries.
