Trial 9s? I think I found somebody to help me get a few of the trials done for me, if you catch my drift…(looking at you, Saddam). I’m just trying to get half the trials done for every character, and that alone is tough. I still need one more for Ash and two more for Chin. Some of the characters aren’t too bad, but I’m too easily intimidated by anything involving HD mode. Elizabeth’s trial 7 was pretty cool tho.

btw I’m that Steve kid.

I will go to your gathering of nooblars if someone wants to play some GGAC in celebration of the recent announcement.

man i totally forgot what your SRK name even was scott

ggs to everyone that bodied me. Wish I could have stayed later but I was pretty exhausted from my awful sleep schedule this week.

was it worth it, Brock???

How did it taste?

I lol’d

Oh, it was worth it. I got a good laugh.

Shout outs to blind dates. Maybe if I was actually blind, it would’ve gone better. LOL.

Rush that shit down

GGs to those that made it out

fun times car riders

Hey, well as you people say IFD! Let me re-introduce myself. I saw most of you at Musa’s gathering back in September. My name is Mike. I was the guy talking BurnYourEgo’s ear off and probably too drunk to play like I should. Still a noob (execution sucks even though I’ve been playing for 10+ years) Burn, humbag, Tubo, and Fllexo, I remember talking to you the most and getting the most insight. If I’m able to make it to a gathering in the next few months are any one of you willing to help a noob out? May be able to bring another noob w/ me. I just don’t want to take away from any good games you got going right now. Interested in any viable game right now. Mostly SSFIV: AE v2012, UMvC3, KoF XIII and the upcoming SFxT. Also this Summer VF5: FS is looking good. I’ve been taking a break from fighting games but wanting to get back into it. Let me know if you guys are willing to help in between your real ass matches.

Scott…I’m so down. I’ve been waiting forEVER for them to port AC to a system that I can actually play on. :tup: Also, I need your phone number…again. lol Mine is 217 - 552 - 7346.

There are gatherings every Friday, organized by oms3 and r0b0_b0b. You should come to them.

What going on fellas? i know its been a while since i got on, and i have yet to actually come to a gathering. i have been watching tho, and i think it really cool there is a legit spot to have games on friday night. If anyone cares, i haven’t been on shoryuken like that because this semester has literally been kicking my ass in homework and hour long labs. I’m never taking two sciences again in one semester… lol lesson learned. Most of the free time i been having has been used to finish my book, and the other 30% has been used to play Kof and recently AE 2012, but mainly in the lab. lol no more marvel for me as of the moment… and that’s for various reasons. um… so thats it for the brief "talk-too-much"
My real reason for getting on is some matchup questions for both Ae and Kof.
Ae) so i picked up evil ryu (his dlc outfit with the long hair is soooo damn raw lol) and i am finding it irritating to play against seth. i find myself trading with alot of his wall jumps and jump ins. i dont shoryuken becuz ryu seems to miss on a regular basis becuz his arc, but then again i could be reacting too early or late. so i use close standing h, which trades alot. :slight_smile: any suggestions?
Kof) i actually been having alot of success overall playing my modified original team (Duo Lon -thanks to mad kof-, Iori©, Robert), but Benimaru, Athena, and Kim just makes me freeze. i dont know what to do besides block until my gauge breaks lol… kim is really had to punish after doing his special moves at certain distances, athena is the same with her dive kick options, and Benimaru is crazy good becuz of his tigerknee lighting punches into command throw or kick chains…
any advice?
Also, i have the hardest time getting in with Iori©. when i do get a hit i do big damage, and since i can do HD combos now, i can kill characters, but getting that big hit is crazy hard. i use forward A most of the time and close C, but they trade alot and only lead to big damage at certain distances… advice?
notes i do study kof on dreamcancel but it only tells me so much, and i use record and playback in the lab. I just a capture card from newegg and so i will be posting actual videos when it arrives :)…

Watching the LG Cup Tournament “Episode” right now. I haven’t found any eng subs, and my korean is terrible, but the stupid way koreans produce their tv shows is hilarious. Love how they blow up the “I dont know much” line Justin says about some random korean guy to ridicule the korean dude.
Also, 90% of the video is watching a random club, 10% is street fighter. This is how you everybody here learned SF4, rite guys?

EDIT: Last match of Fuudo vs. Poongko. Why doesn’t that work when I try it?
Also, random ultras during the phone tourney? Daigo so scrub (or execution errors due to stupid phone, but I doubt it).

@soulful
fighting seth with any character is irritating.

C is really good with iori, it doesnt seem to trade much for me. getting in with him shouldnt be that difficult just hop and jump all over the place with C for jump ins and D for air to airs. Jumping CD is also pretty good and crossup B for da mixups.

im not sure if claw iori has all the same normals as 98, but if he does, to open people up you can also do things like stand b->forward a instead of just raw c or forward a. or low b -> low a -> forward a, things like that. sort of obvious i know but you didn’t mention going for stuff like that. and dont forget about his command grab

We have plenty of people that come on Fridays. The skill level covers a very large range, from newbies to marcus level. If you come to our gatherings, and are willing to learn, then you will get better.

U guys are getting a jets pizza soon. Their thick pan style was good when I had it in Tennessee

@soulful
yes… like dan said, fighting against seth with any character is indeed irritating. You might wanna practice anti-airing his dive kick or just try to avoid it altogether if you can with air to air or in rare situations, teleport to safety (worst thing he can do will probably be st. fierce). Also, that dive kick has to hit you below the waste for him to combo as its hitstun isn’t all that great, so get ready to anti air with strong shoryu at that range. A close range than that u can afford to get hit or block the dive kick as it wont combo, so a lot of seths will try to command grab. When he attempts to cross up thou, e.ryu’s crouching fierce should do the trick.

Overall, I say you try to read his tanden engine and command grab and punish accordingly. If there’s one character that makes seth really think twice about doing those things, it’s evil ryu, so get your punishes down. Think about it this way, if you master his punishes, 2 mistakes from seth = dead seth, at least w/ evil ryu.

Awesome. It’s been a while and I’m glad to hear there is something regular going on. Can’t make it this Friday but I’m gonna shoot for the next one. Thanks!

I can’t make it to games this Friday either. :frowning:
