I’ll be there. If random people show up you should have like a promotional dvd or tape playing. Psx and Hryan would be a good experience along with dj-b and his videos.
HAve top tier discussions? Why Sf is so technical and what works. Logic behind you game. Player introductions and profile(play style, perferred game, flaws, pros). Explainations of games. Shit you should do this even though people dont show up. Maybe people can learn things about games they never bothered to get into.

Just one little comment I don’t think the word scrub should be used on new players. I really don’t appreciate that word. Its used to freely and the real meaning is nothing how people use it.

A new player should just be that. New and still learning. Remember you call them scrubs now and in a year or 2 there going to be rocking you in Marvel vs EA or , SF4. You never know…

Just a couple other ideas to to throw out I think friday there should be 3 tvs.

1 for MVC2
Keep the last one open for beginers that want to play maybe another game or so they can practice in there groups. Seriouslly its not always true that the fastest way to learn is playing the best.
If you can’t understand your eating AHVB x 5 or roll super then your not going to learn. Sometimes its better to start in a small pool with friends so everyoen is comfortable about there level of play. Just my 2 cents.
Also when they sign up for membership try to have them fill out something and have them list some of there favorite fighting games.
You never know but you mind find a decent idea of what might be alternate games to run. Some of the UH students might be better at older street fighter games and others the alpha series. Some people played more in the old SF days and stopped.
Also what game systems people have. Because it also affects if they can practice certain games or not and gives us a better idea. Of suggestions. Not everyone knows CVS2 and MVC2 are also on PS2 and XBOX. Im sure most people at the meetings dont even own dreamcast units.

Shit man, PSX got good ideas! Hopefully this thing can get off the ground. I wouldn’t mind playing more random people who are worse than me. Is it going to be every Friday? If so, I try to get off early/not work on those days, so that I can make it.
Also, if any noob who attends chooses S-Groove, teach them the correct way and make them pick C. It’s not worth their time.

Meeting tomorrow from 9-6 again.

For those who show up tomorrow, I really could use some help planning Friday’s and subsequent meetings. Same DC and greensticks, I think matt is showing up, and I’m going to call ryan tomorrow and see if he can come too. Theo? Wang? Chad?

I’ll be there to check in at 2pm. I think Evil will come and watch the room, but it would be nice if more people could show up by then. I will be back at 345.
As for what we are doing on Friday? I would like a 3s 3v3 (need people to confirm), maybe some evo footage viewing, and some marvel warmup, introductions of new people, and maybe some friendly breeze shooting. Hryan: I have some awesome ggxx stuff to show you.
Depending on how many new people show up (which I doubt will be many) and how much dues are collected, we can plan the next meeting.
Speaking of which, before Ryan graduated, we had tentativly decided on $15 for one year of membership. Membership would include free access to “roomed” practice sessions (maybe charge non-members like $3 to come in and free play all day?), and goes to rental fees (they charge for weekend usage), and if we get enough: buying MAS sticks for club use only. Other costs are for advertising (around campus and in the school newspaper), and for storage, if we need it.
I lost the email list I had before (can’t log into combogods anymore for some reason, could someone forward the old email to me so I can copy the email list?), so I need whoever wants in, to either pm me, or come on friday or wed and sign up. You can pay the dues when you sign up. If you are only intereted, and don’t want to pay the cash, then at least give me your email etc to I can contact everyone en mass about other meetings.
Most importantly PLEASE CHECK SRK, I know not many people do on a daily basis, but there is so much information posted here, and information is good.
