UFGT7 - Evo 2011 Tournament Season Qualifier - Chicago IL - May 27-29, 2011

Thanks Keits i was just wondering bout that cause i even looked on the tournament edition fightstick and they have the turbo on there as well.I was thinking how the hell do these people play in the tournaments with the turbo button but yeah i will have the turbo button feature locked cause like i said i have no need for it the only time i have used the turbo feature was in the royal rumble for the super nintendo otherwise not used it in any other games.

Most people are mature enough to not use turbo in a tournament.

Even they are using turbo the TE stick should light up and you can see them using turbo. Unless they further hacked it so the lights don’t come on. Granted that it is possible, most tournament goers know better than to try and use turbo or do something stupid like that which would get them banned from the tournament and make it likely that other tournament directors will outright ban you from entering or watch over you like a hawk.

Thats good to know. This is my first hopefully fighting convention so i was thinking bout entering into it don’t know what game yet but what the hell ya only live once right.Does anybody know when the registration open up?

Registration is likely to open up in January. I’ll keep you guys updated.

For sure going to make it out to this. This year should be a helluva lot of fun

All year, until UFGT7, I will be working on a way to out do the Tokido pose. Be ready, stream viewers!

Never been to a tournament before (that’s what happens when you live out in the sticks of Minnesota). A friend and I have toyed with the idea of going to a sizey tournament, and UFGT7 may very well be the one. We’ll probably need to make Amtrak plans, but that would give us more down time to get ready, I suppose.

I wouldn’t stand much of a chance at it, I’m sure. I’m just some ambitious T. Hawk player. But hey, I want to go to a tournament, and I want to be able to say i went to Chicago without just “passing through”. If I have to buy a PS3 fightstick to do so, I suppose its worth it.

EDIT: Talked to my friend, he’s all for it. Looks like rural Minnesota is getting some representation at UFGT7. :woot:

If I may make one suggestion: Have the free water station anywhere but in front of the organizer station.

Private - Awesome, see you there! Let us know if you have any questions.

Noah - I should have a lot more control of things like that this year. Its a very good suggestion and I’ll be sure that it is both accessible and not in a high traffic area.

it only makes sense if u win though OH

I had a question about Super Street Fighter IV. I’ve heard that the PS3 actually lags 3 frames behind gameplay, and the tournament is still going to use it for the matches? Just wondering why is all.

Also I’d like to express interest in MBAA being included. Just trying to push it forward a bit. Thanks in advance to my question.

While the Ps3 does has 1-2 more frames of input lag, when compared to the 360 version, it is the tournament standard and will be used at UFGT7. It is a matter of what is available to us, and right now, our sponsor Gaming Generations is bringing us PS3s.

Melty is on my list, so i’ll try to include it.

Ah, I see then. Thanks for answering, it’s much appreciated. I’ll try my best to attend this, sounds like it’s gonna be a lot of fun

I will be there for sure. Cant wait to go fight in a big Tournament finally.

My friend (who’s too lazy to log into his SRK account) wants me to ask about the PS3 Madcatz fightpad. Its wireless, correct? I assume its connectible via USB so that it can be used as tournaments, then?

I guess it doesn’t affect me, however, I just ordered a PS3 SE stick today, thanks Walmart!

Last year we allowed the fightpads that have the USB dongle, since they automatically disconnect when you remove the dongle. Keits will have to confirm if we are going to allow those again or not.

Any chances for AH3?

im in there!!!

This will be allowed. I have some plans for the wireless controller problem, but i’m still looking them over. If I enact them, there will be zero tolerance on this policy. I respect your right to use the controller you wish, but that respect ends when you mess up someone else’s tournament match because you are not taking proper precautions.

A full gamelist won’t be announced until registration opens. That said, AH3 has a pretty good shot.

Yo Keits im down to help out on staff for UFGT7
