Wish we could get more variety on the stream, but I do understand “the why”. But as long as Sunday is dedicated to all games. No one will (should) complain. Besides I’ll be here staffing this event again anyways. No complaints here.

I like the news so far.
The pot layout system is nice, and I think it will be less discouraging (and less pressure in some instances) towards new players (and hopefully, they won’t be pushed away from bad experience).
Also, will anyone at this tournament be willing to play Dark Awake (i.e. Chaos Breakers) and Arcana Heart 3 on the PS3? Just throwing it out there people.
Vampire Savior sounds like a treat. I wouldn’t mind getting a few games in. Get the blood flowing again in that game (no pun intended, of course).

I really like the idea of more payouts. I think this will make these things bigger, and if more people adopt this in both majors and minors, you could truly see a ton of people showing up. I have been thinking for a couple years that this should happen. Paying Top 3 in brackets nowadays is ludicrous. At the very least, the top 10% of players should be getting paid out to, much akin to poker tournament payouts.
Top 3 definitely was a good policy back when getting a 128 man bracket was a big deal, and especially when there weren’t sponsors. We are very fortunate to have sponsors now to help boost pots.
This tourny sounds ridiculously amazing! I would love to go, seeing as it wouldn’t be a far trip for me, just I would feel weird going alone and not knowing anyone plus this would be my first tourny…ever
No worries, man. Tournaments are a place to meet people, you dont need to know anyone to show up. Just be friendly and strike up a conversation with some of the people in your tournament pools. See you in May!

The Ultimate Payout Structure (UPS) for UFGT7, Summary;
Note that, while this is close to finalized, it is still subject to small changes
The goals of this system are
1.) To pay the top 10% of tournament entries, rounded based on double elimination’s massive ties.
2.) To ensure that the lowest available payout is your entry fee +
3.) To ensure that everyone who is getting paid always gets paid more each time a new person enters the tournament.
The payscale changes when a new entry benchmark is reached. A scaling pot bonus will also be added to the total prize pot at every benchmark.
