So, if Chris and Fugee saw fit to give me SB and it ran successfully but they decided to take it back the following year, can I host a tournament at MoMos with a different name and call it a major?
Yes, clearly the name is the most significant part of the whole event.
I haven’t went to Chi-town in a few years. I’m really wanting to show up to this one. The only thing that would keep me away is finances at that time (i.e. - Do I have enough to do this and take my trip to Korea in June?)

I think you are confused (or trolling). The tournament I ran last year was called MWC, but it was my tournament. It had nothing in common with MWC other than the name, which I borrowed (after Wilson cancelled) to try to carry it on and make sure Chicago got the pre-evo major it deserved. (MWC was an arcade tournament, my event was console. MWC was at nickel city, mine was at the Crowne, MWC had never livestreamed, my event was, etc etc etc)
Jason wants the NAME back, but this is, again, my tournament, which drew 350+ last year. It doesn’t matter what it is called. It will be run by the same people that made it a great success last year, and I hope you’ll come and find out why.
So Keits’ Midwest Championships had nothing to do with Jason’s Midwest Championships. What I’m trying to get at is that people came not because it was Keits Presents: Midwest Championships, but because it was Midwest Championships, an already established major and Evo qualifier.

Alright, that’s cool. I’ll give it to you, but it still doesn’t sit right. I feel for the dudes (Larry, Chris/Fugee, Jason, Eric, etc.) that worked super hard for years to get where they’re at now.

I don’t understand what you are so worked up about, Crimson. If you honestly think Keits hasn’t put in hours upon hours for this community to get to the point where wizard trusts him with evo slots at what is clearly going to be a major than I don’t really know how to respond. More importantly, I just don’t see your point. What exactly is the point of bringing up that this is somehow not supposed to be a major? The only really logical conclusion here is that you are just trolling. I mean really, are you actually upset that a tournament is going to be run and its going to be a major, since the ‘old’ tournament that would have been a major quite simply isn’t going to be run or at least not run anywhere near the proximity where a major is needed.
Anyways, I’m going to go ahead and request that all of the posts about this argument are deleted because its really quite silly for this thread about a tourney almost a year off to have drama already.

I’ll see you at UFGT7! The logo is looking pretty sick, hopefully I’ll have something to show in a few days. Its still 9 months out, so there wont be a flood of details for a while. I just wanted people to know when/where its happening as early as possible.

And yeah, I didn’t come in with the intention of trolling, but when asking with sincerity how this was a major, I received a smart-ass answer that pretty much spelled numbers. In that logic, anybody with the right connections/money can host a major, and it didn’t sit right. Then I looked at what was considered a major and nodded my head. Okay, it’s considered a major. That’s cool. I’m dropping it though.

I dont see what the problem is because up until the “trolling” started this thread was like in page 2 somewhere if any thing id thank the man for the free bump since this doesnt have a sticky. I think trolling is something a little more like what happens in all of triforces threads than this fellow just stirring things up a bit. Its things like this that make threads fun to read id never visit this shit if is was just like “ok im coming” u know, I just dont see a reason to go and delete posts seems stupid …but than again you love to censor people dont you adam

One of the special exhibition events I’m wanting to set up is something Vampire Savior based. I want to show Capcom the game still gets some love, and its very exciting to watch top level VS play. What are your thoughts on this?
