UFGT7 - Evo 2011 Tournament Season Qualifier - Chicago IL - May 27-29, 2011

The HHH champ will be there as long as Zenblaster is

Hello There! Glad to see a tournament close to me! haha. I have quick question. I searched the thread about wireless controllers. I play on a dualshock 3 myself, and was wondering if this would apply. I see that they are not allowed but I really dont have any other way to play. I suck on the TE! Haha. So i was wondering if this could be addressed someway? Thanks everyone! And see you all there!

Best bet would be to get a DS2 controller and get an inpin ps2 to ps3 adapter.

This is probably something better asked closer to the date of the tournament, but I just wanted to put out there that I could bring my system and SSF4. This is the first time I’ll be playing in a tournament, so I’m not quite sure what kind of TV’s you’re looking for but I might be able to bring one too depending on what you’re looking for.

Dont quote me on this, but I’m pretty sure we will run pools this year to make sure that doesnt happen again. Once again, this is Keits’ call, but I’m pretty sure that is what has been decided on. Again, nothing official yet, but pools seem like the way things are leaning towards.

I’m not sure where we are on equipment, but extra set ups generally never hurt. I’m sure Keits will get back to you on this.

As far as TVs go, the fighting game community in general want lag free TVs, so either CRT (Non-HD) TVs, or HD TVs that have been proven “lag free” like the Asus monitor used at Evo in 2009.

Be sure to check the first post for information, it’s already posted that we are doing pools. Keits also answered the issue of wireless controllers on the Ultimate Fighting Game Tournament | May 27-29, 2011 ? Chicago, IL site, specifically that they will be banned.

The official Games list has been announced. That, along with being one of the major stops on the Evo Tournament Season, should hold you over while I finish getting registration prepared.

That Guy - Equipment is always a great thing! Plan on bringing it.

Oh shit ST teams? NICE!

Please note that Team’s entry money will taken in the hour prior to the start of teams events. Also note that mystery game tournament is capped at 128 entries. Do not procrastinate on this if you want to participate. If it reaches its cap, it pays top 12 with a 500 dollar bonus.

Keits, you missed the numbers for the teams on SSF4. I’m assuming 3 on 3 as well?

My bad! Yes, 3 on 3. Teammates cannot use duplicate characters in any team event. This includes MvC3, where a team of 3 needs 9 unique characters.

Wait so no standard PS3 controllers will be allowed? That’s totally ghey as that’s all I got cuz IM POOR.

Wow this will be interesting to see what MVC3 Teams come up with. I like this rule Keits! cause if not…we would see Dante, Deadpool in every team…

I’d love to see some 3rd Strike at this. That poor game got crapped on HARD by SF4’s popularity.

So goofy. So unorthadox. SO. EFFING. HYPE. I love it!

You can use a standard PS3 controller, but you need to remove the battery and use it only as a wired controller.

We are looking into having a de-syncing station for people who use these controllers with the battery, but it is still very risky. One error by a random person could ruin someone who is following the rules’ tournament experience.

Shoutouts to this year’s Frosty Faustings in which BBCS Team finals was stopped 3 times due to a random XMB screen.

Ah ok i didn’t even know you could take the battery out or anything. I’d prefer desyncing stations but im cool with that

I have to concur with Keits on this one. PS3 bluetooth controllers are a nightmare in a tournament setting - I’ve seen them re-sync without anyone ever touching a goddamn button…people IN OTHER ROOMS somehow accidentally re-syncing their pads to consoles…

My personal favorite is the “get a trophy, lock up the gameplay for a whole second” issue, but that’s one that you can’t really get around.

Hoorah for EVO choosing PS3 as their console of choice. Even though the majority of gamers play on 360.

Anyway…I’m planning on coming to UFGT, sounds like fun. Especially the mystery tournament, that kind of shit is right up my alley.

This will be the first tourney in a long time where I enter more than 2-3 events.

Another stupid question, and it’s really stupid, mystery game tournament is just gonna be fighting games or is it gonna be like, real mystery and get Mario Kart on that bitch or something? Maybe get that NBA Jam? Cause I might enter that for shits and giggles even though I’m terribad.
